my Rag Swag-first time I made one

Trying to feel like I am *doing something*
whilst living in recliner land, I made this
RAG-Swag (garland) last week.
I tore fabric into 2 inch strips...then cut those strips
into 6 in pieces....easy...doesn't have to be exact
NO PERFECTION here !!
I added in some ribbon and rick rack
Not hard...you can make it any length
I tied those 6 inch pieces on some
thin rope I picked up...I even made ther rope
stronger by making it 3 strands strong.
Mine is in FALL colors...if I don't do things ahead
of a season sometimes they don't get done.
Summer will be winding down soon.
ALSO...if you google Rag swags or rag garlands
there are quite a few images out there.
Some even tie on little toys, miniature cooking utensils
ANYTHING
There is no wrong way....
Think my next one might be SHABBY--pinks
or more FALL but tied on a hanger shaped in a circle.
Give it a try...
Easy--peasy...

That is cute-ness itself! I love love love it... and I am going to make some for our house.... or, I just thought of something! Millen could make these for Christmas presents for her aunts and grandmothers! Thanks for the inspiration, dear Deby, and I hope you are feeling better soon.

My own back is causing me so much pain these last few days, I feel so debilitated- it's nothing serious I am sure, but the spasms are sooo painful. There is so much I need to get done, but I can't and it is so frustrating... thanks for listening to me gripe and moan... I knew you would understand☺ blessings to you, dear!

It's so sweet and if you say it's easy, I believe you but it doesn't look simple! I love the fall colours!

Glad that you're finding things that you enjoy and can do from your recliner position :o)

Love, love, love your fall color rag swag! I was going to do this for the holidays and add curtain clips to mine that you can add Christmas cards to it and use it for garland and greeting card holder.

Oh thank you for reminding me to do something this simple instead of waiting to get my sewing machine out to work on.

So pretty. My imagination ran ahead to Christmas with ornaments and keepsakes worked in and swagged on the tree. Not that I would ever get it finished!

how CUTE!!! I love that you added rick rack and ribbon..that really put a touch to it.

We use to take little squares of fabric and punch in the center into a straw wreath all over..makes a really cute fabric scrap wreath.

Take care Deby..
