Crayons ..information,can't resist **added new link

I had to check out those crayons I posted yesterday.
you know..the ones underneath this post.
Well at Target they are almost $15.00 for 150 Crayons
BUT
RIGHT NOW...they have the ones posted above
at TARGET on sale $5.00. They come in a Cigar Type BOX
I had to share that with you as I thought that was a great
deal. So this blogger *moi* spent her $5.00 instead of the almost
$15.00 and will be happy with 30 less crayons.
ALSO....this box said the colors were all different
the set of 150 does not make that statement.
ALSO want to color ???? click:

This time of year

I was talking to a friend today and it was so funny
as we both like this time of year for all the school
supplies that are out there, and at some good prices
if you watch the ads.

This section in a store tends to be one of my favorites
--the Paper section, notebooks, pens, marker, oh
I love this stuff.
CRAYONS...always a prized posession...especially
the 64 box of Crayons.
But look Below:

When I saw this on the crayola site I couldn't believe it !!!
Oh would I have fun with these...
Do you like coloring in coloring books...I do, but have a pet peeve:
IF you are going to color a page in my book you MUST
FINISH the page...and sign your name and date !!!
My favorite books are those with women, flowers or stuff
like that...not big on coloring animals for some reason.
~~~YEP...love when the school supplies come out
even if it is just to browse....
Queen Anne's Lace
Do you love the look of it ?
I sure do
When I googled
I found out so much information
If this interests you,
This is blooming everywhere
on the sides of freeways
in fields..
I love it !!!
It reminds me of Baby's Breath
So open...and airy.
I do not consider it a weed
Does it grow where you live?
Another blessing NOT from Mother Nature
.....it is from Father God
Creator of Heaven and Earth.
The Quiet Heart
The quiet heart finds blessing
in small gifts of gentle beauty,
assurance in warm,
peaceful hours of rest.
The quiet heart finds joy and true contentment always nearby,
for the quiet heart knows simple things are best.
Trip to Ikea
I like going to Ikea. Although the lines of
their furniture, is much to modern for me.
Add a doilie, candle,voila' it can work.
There is so much more than furniture. I can
find a cheap little something that I can
use in my home.
We went last night looking for a bookcase.
If you ever can go, wear decent shoes.
it is much walking, at least to me.
When I leave there, I can barely walk, the
fibro is hurting so bad. It is still worth it.
I enjoy the evening away with my husband.
We get a 7-11 coffee and off we go.
I will add in quite a few pictures. My camera
battery died there so I didn't get one of my beloved.
not great...but that is me !!
I see a RED piece of furniture...hmmm
RED fabric..tempting !!!
Blurry...but love the PINK and Mirrors
organize
nice
they added the silverware to this chandelier..
kitchenware...fun to browse
candles..candles..candles...
I am a basket case !!!
Psalms 100
Yesterday evening our visiting evangelist, spoke on this Psalm which is
a favorite of mine. I thought *what a way to start a week*....but let's
face it, there is NO bad verse in our Bible. I know we all have favorite
passages, this is one of mine ...hope it blesses you as it did me.
Psalms 100
1. Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands
2 . Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
3. Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise:
be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
5. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
Quirky Meme
I have been tagged by I *think* about 5-6 friends
to do this meme. I keep forgetting and then I get re-tagged
so here goes. PLEASE Forgive me for not mentioning
all of your names. I know I am taking the easy way out
vs. doing all those hyper links and at the risk of forgetting
someone.
1. I hate being late, I would rather not go to something than be late
2. Drives me crazy when people abuse the express line at stores, my husband
looks at me and sees me counting peoples' things and just laughs.
3. I can crave vinegary type things, pickles, I drink pickle juice
or make salad dressing from it....yummmm
4. When I drive,getting on or of the freeway on ramps etc..I have to turn off
the radio/CD player.
5. I get my feelings hurt to easily,I am working on this as I don't feel it
is scriptural. Need to mature more in this area.
6. I am a "picker", this is said from my grandson, Noah..when asked. What it means
is if I get a bite or sore...etc..I won't leave it alone to heal. Gross, huh?
7. Beauty school dropout....almost finished but quit. Couldn't stand women smoking
when I was doing their hair, mixed with the smell of Aqua Net Hairspray ( I am
dating myself I know).
8. I read fast when in a book...and also will sometimes read the last chapter
before I finish the book...I will still read it but can't wait for the ending
and want to know everything worked out okay.....
9. I am hard to surprise.
10. I love comments....like ALL of you do !!!!
11. I am taking this from PEN of JEN's....STILL madly in love with my husband
almost 37 years....
NOW..this was supposed to be 6 quirky things about me..but since it took me so long, I made it 11 and I will pass it on to ALLLLL of you that are reading this,Please let me know if you do it so I can get back and read yours...
Nails and Anger
There was a little boy who had a bad temper.
His father gave him a bag of nails
and told him that every time he lost his temper,
to hammer a nail in the back fence.
99 cent bargains
These were found recently for .99 each.
This store picks a color for the week...then the following MONDAY those things
of that color that did not sell go for .99.
The candle holder was marked for $2.99
I love when I find deals like that.
I know that some don't find Thrift shops etc..exciting, but they sure are to me.
In fact, from where I live I think I counted 11 within a 1/2 hour circumfrance of my house. Now mind you I cannot afford to do this as much as I would like. Even cheap, is not FREE, and with the cost of gas, plus this achey body isn't always UP to it.
Probably will do something with this cross-stitch frame..for sure paint...
I might even add a few more colors of thread to the stitchery to make it blend in
with my colors better. Anyways....
hope you enjoy these little bargains.
Finally getting these posted with more posts like this too come.
Stay tuned....
Topsy-turvy
I found this Vintage looking doll at a yard sale.
I don't usually buy *stuffed things* but she passed the
*smell test* and came home.
She is a TOPSY TURVY doll. You can google that
if you want to make one yourself.
I thought she just had that old look and was a find...
$2-3.00...can't remember.
You flip the skirt over her head to have one version and then vice versa
As I was looking at her this scripture came to mind:
James 1:8
A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
btw, she still is not named....
Thoughts from George
Source of quote
In his diaries, George Washington wrote,
“Let my heart gracious God, be so effected with your glory and majesty,
that I may fulfill these weighty duties which you have required of me.
I have called upon you to pardon me of my sins.
Thank you for the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, offered on the cross for me.
You gave your Son to die for me and have given me assurance of salvation.”
Life at Narrow Way Cottage
What....Narrow Way Cottage????
Yes, I have given her a name, I love it it.
Do you remember last year when I wrote about my struggle with my home?
You can read it here if you need a refresher. My husband has continued to
make improvements on our abode and I thought that I would share with you the latest.
RED Shutters, I love them....and next will be RED flower boxes under the window.
I am so thankful for my little home. I heard on the news that 8,000 homes a day in the USA go into foreclosure. Our little place, a manufactured home is paid for.
IT was $8,000.00. Do I miss a stick built, big beautiful house ? Sometimes, many times. I am learning so many lessons in this home, albeit slowly. The major one
*CONTENTMENT*. It is hard when you see all the lovely places out there,
to not covet.
IT is something I work on and sometimes get into sin on. I am a work in progress as is my home. The Lord is dealing with ME, my husband is dealing with the home.I am so thankful for my husband that works so hard on our place.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Can I share with you what he has done?
Replaced all inner walls
Painted all inner walls,to include changes of colors, due to his fickle wife
Put all new windows in
A new front door and screen
Laminate flooring in (thanks Mark)
Carpeted our bedroom
Crown Molding
2 new bathrooms
Sided the outside (thanks to Matt,Mark, GINA)
Built front and back covers for decks
New door on lovely room
landscaping
put new cupboards in part of the kitchen
new kitchen sink and counter tops
Moved furniture around due to my everchanging ideas
more coats of paint
gutters
air conditoning
Christmas lights every year
I think that might be it...isn't that ENOUGH.
My husband works usually over 50 hours a week too..
.....and yet he has
had to put up with me whinning at times because *I want a bigger stick built house*
SHAME on me, and I MEAN IT..
Oh as I was sitting on my deck today reading my Bible I was shamed at my behaviour ,
"Lord I am sorry I am not more thankful. I love this little place
Thank you for a husband that loves me so much that works so hard and for this
Narrow Way
Cottage."
to my husband...
"Thank you for all the work that you do, for loving me so
uncondtionally. I appreciate you and and thankful for
a man that loves the Lord and his wife who falls so short"
I am guilty too
Does it ever bug you when you
see someone parked in the Handicapped
Parking Space and they seem so young,
or so healthy. Do you think *why are they parking there*?
Do you sometimes judge them by the way they look, maybe they
*look* healthy. I am sure most of you have never thought
twice when you see this scenario. I have..I have judged the
person using the special parking place, I have wrongly judged.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Why do I blog about this? Well I am that person now, using the handicap spot.
I get the dirty looks, believe me you know it when you see them.
What people don't realize is that there are the unseen things going on in many of
our bodies. It can be someone with asmtha that just parking that closer makes a difference.
It can be someone that just needs to have a spot closer just to be able to go out.
This I know, I wish I didn't have a reason to qualify for this priviledge. Today is one of those days.
I would encourage you to think twice, if you were like me, and jumping to conclusions.
Maybe pray for that person, they might be having a day when they could use your
prayers, yours might be the only prayers that someone has prayed for them.
If My People
2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, which are called by my name,
shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face,
and turn from their wicked ways;
then will I hear from heaven,
and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
History of Redwork
This WORK is done by Lasting Treasure
This History of Redwork is on their site as well.
Please visit their site it has so many patterns
History of Redwork
Redwork is believed to have originated in Europe in the early 1800’s and traveled to America around 1850 with the availability of color fast red floss. The availability of color fast red thread and inexpensive cotton fabric led to an abundance of interest in this type of embroidery. From the 1860’s through the 1920’s it became popular for young girls to be taught to embroider using red thread floss on cotton squares using simple patterns. These "penny squares"—the simple cotton and floss could be purchased for a penny in dry goods stores across the country—were quickly stitched and often put together block by block into lightweight bed covers.
The outline or running stitch is used primarily for the design with the occasional more fancy stitches of Crazy Quilting being added for embellishment.
Redwork designs were used for home decorating during this time period. Vintage Redwork pieces can be found across America today at antique stores and flea markets. The designs were usually used in dresser scarves, coverlets, towels, and other items for home decoration. This type of embroidery was applied to very functional pieces of linen or cotton that were meant to withstand daily use. It was not unusual for moral sayings expressing the virtues of hard work to be stitched in script with flowers added for a charming effect.
A resurgence in this simple embroidery began in the late 1990’s and continues today. Redwork groups have sprung up at quilt stores as women fall in love with the simplicity of the vintage designs and the easy use of the patterns.
~~My note:
You can use any color to do this. Have a PINK kitchen do it all in PINK, the idea is to keep the same color.
Come on over for a CUPPA and we can stitch together.
Thank you for all the wonderful comments on the previous post
Redwork Tea Towels
Pattern by:
www.Yesterdayscharm.com
These are two Tea Towels I recently did
I did them identical (almost) except using a different stitch
The one on the left is done in a STEM stitch, the one on the
right is done with a BACKSTITCH. Not sure which I prefer
I just wanted to see how different they would look. I still need to sew
some lace on. I am loving stitching. I was taught by my mom in 4th
grade.
Can you tell the difference in stitches? Do you have a preference?
