in small gifts of gentle beauty,
assurance in warm,
peaceful hours of rest.
The quiet heart finds joy and true contentment always nearby,
for the quiet heart knows simple things are best.

Psalms 46:10
Be still, and know that I am God:
I will be exalted among the heathen,
I will be exalted in the earth.
Have a great Lord's Day tomorrow

It's the "Be still" part I'm always having a problem with, sweet apple chick! I try to listen to that still small voice over my own sometimes but I do need to be more silent. But I agree 100% with what you say.

Have a wonderful Lord's Day, Deby!
Deby, this fits perfectly with the post you liked yesterday on Honest Contentment. To be aware of the goodness of what God has blessed us with is so important. I love how this quote stresses that. There is such danger in trying to compare our situations to others ... we will either come out feeling sinfully prideful or sinfully discontent ... when we really just need to be resting in the goodness of the Lord. Thank you for sharing this.
You always share the best quotes and the Scripture at the end was a blessing too.
Jodi--your comment, as usual, blessed me as well. (o:
Dear Deby ~

That was nice to read and a wonderful reminder. God bless you all my dear friend.
Deby,
This has become my life verse. Keeping still is not something I do well, but I am learning.
Have a great Lord's day tomorrow. May the message fill you and sustain you through the week. :)
blessings,
mari
Wishing you a blessed Lord's Day tomorrow, too! How are you doing? Did you recover from the IKEA hike?
I Love the new look of your blog! The header is very cute!
Have a great Sunday!
B. J. Hoff is one of my favorite authors. This little poem reminds me why!

Sweet post! Have a great Lord's Day today!
BTW, guess what I bought yesterday? An apple of Gold, I'll post about it later!
Deby,
I hadn't heard this quote before but I think it's going to become a favorite!
Both it and the Scripture verse that you chose to go along with it really blessed me!
