Sunday Blessing

Yesterday, we were blessed to have John and Tina Green at our church.
Bro. John spoke at all three services and Tina sang twice, wonderful.
They are with "Bearing Precious Seed--Local Church Bible Publishers".
They provide Bibles to missionaries, FREE.
They had a book table set up, with very reasonable priced KJV Bibles.
They also had a large variety of great Godly books at great prices.
You can order from them too at "Local Church Bible Publishers"
A great source for building your library.

Perhaps today

1 Corinthians 15:52
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump:
for the trumpet shall sound,
and the dead shall be raised incorruptible,
and we shall be changed.

Red and Pink

Oh I can spend tooooo much time oooohing and ahhhhhing
at the cottage type blogs in blogland. I love the pink and white
shabby look. Love old thrift shop finds and treasures.
Would love that look in my whole house. My husband wouldn't,
well, at least not now...
So what I do is have a room and bathroom with that look.
My house is small so colors don't have to flow.
So I just do the best with decorating and making our
little home comfortable for both of us. So if you like reds
you can have tea or coffee with me in our living room or kitchen area,
if you are a pink girl, come into my *lovely room* as my husband has named it.
Either way, WELCOME

This shelf is on a wall across from my recliner.
My living room colors are reds, and yellow/golds. white and tan
and some others thrown in....
a real contrast from the next one:

This is a shelf found from Craig's list..it was connected to a desk, the desk is in
front of my window. This is all in my shabby, pink, guest, sewing, crafting room.
This was the white and gold French Provencial furniture, you know the kind.
The people had painted it. We got it cheap, the paint is chipped etc, and you know
what it is staying as is.

Don't you love homemaking and the variety of things we can create ?

Blessings from bloggers

I love to send things to people. That is me. I NEVER send expecting back. Oh but I have been blessed in the past year by things from bloggers, treasures that I cherish. I have not always been good about acknowleding them, not a good thing, I will by a email or note or phone call but not always on my blog, sometimes that is because they request that I do not. Today I am playing catch up I am going to *try* to put these in the order received, but I am not expert at posting that is for sure. NOTE,somehow these are in the reverse order of how I wanted them....ooops.

This is from a very talented blog friend of mine who must remain nameless. I just love this...love it...it is a tad small for me, RIGHT now, but not forever. It is something to shrink into and I cannot wait. I love handwork but I am not as accomplished as this blogger is .I could never make something like this. What a blessing..thank you.

This Book is from my blog friend, Deborah Bolack. It was a surprise and a gift for the things she received in my last giveaway. I was so excited to get this in the mail from Manitoba. this book's, font is easy to read and each page has scripture, a devotion or poetry or both then a *New Day Resolution* something so practical, or something so profound, or both, most often. Deb, is a gifted author and blogger and can be found at *Songs from My Journey* you can also order a copy of the book from her, you will be blessed.

This*Crown of Thorns* came from Jennifer, at *Double Nickel Farm and also Pen of Jen*, it is made from the Mesquite bushes on their farm. Oh I cherish this gift as it reminds me of the sacrifice of my Saviour.I can only imagine all the cuts she received whilst making these, not to mention the cuts from the bushes themselves attacking her. Jennifer is just back from a blogging break. Go give her a visit. You will be blessed.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Isn't blogging wonderful ? I wish I could , meet all of you in person (in Heaven someday, amen) and I wish I could send to all of you. I think that is why I like giveaways. I have been humbled by things that have arrived in my mailbox.
Thank you to all who visit here and comment and those of you who do not comment.
I have been blessed

ponderings

This morning I am pondering.
Do you ever do that?
Do you ever have thoughts of things on your mind,
things that are taking shape, but not in some orderly
fashion?
That is where I am at today.
I feel like there is a change that has been started in my heart
in regards to things I need to change about me.
I need to do my part in getting healthier.
I need more simplicity in some areas. I need to budget
my time more. I want to do those things that the Lord has called me to do as a
wife and homemaker.I want to get more organized.....the list is endless.
As I was praying and pondering the Lord brought to mind this verse:
Matt 6:33
Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness
and all these things shall be added unto you

For me I *KNEW* the Lord was telling me to spend more time in HIS word
the HE will start straightening these things out. I am not sure how it works, but it does.
HIS WORD, is ALIVE. It does the work. I have been trying to do this on my own strength
and I am failing horribly. Need to get those priorities right, no one can do it for me, or you.
I do believe as I spend more time with HIM , HE will do the clarifying and enabling.
So that said, need to get into my Bible.

Prayers for our son and family **UPDATE

JOSH arrived safely at his destination. Thank you for prayers for
his driving and trip

Our son left this morning to drive lots of miles in the next two days.
He is going way down south in Califonria. He had to leave his
family behind for a few months.
Please pray for Josh and his family. I am thankful
for a son that works in service to his country.

Mrs. Fink on reverence

I read this on Mrs. Julie Fink's blog
I am giving you a excerpt but would
encourage you to go and read the
"rest of the story".
I think this is something WE ALL
need to work on :
"On the day before my husband was due to leave for an unaccompanied tour to Okinawa in July of 1993, my husband stood in the kitchen with an open book in his hand and a puzzled look on his face.
“Come here Julie,” he said to me on that day, “I want to show you something.”
And then he proceeded to show me something from a part of the Bible that I was not really that familiar with.

“See all of this Julie, I would be willing to give you all of this if you would just give me this one thing . . . REVERENCE.”
Ladies, this is such a good post. We all need this teaching.
I know you will be blessed.

My poor husband

Update: He is back to work. The swelling is down and fever gone.
Thank you for your prayers and kind words

During Sunday School, he was not looking good.
He said he was in so much pain. We left and then cancelled Father's Day Plans.
Well yesterday he finally had the work done, a tooth re-root canaled. He was on
antiobiotics and pain killers for 3 days. His face is still swollen.
You know, I am dental phobic. It was much easier sitting in the waiting room
for 3 hours stitching another tea-towel then sitting in the dentist's chair.
Tonight he is on the mend and I am thankful for the job of a dentist and
the work they do,even when I am holding on to the chair handles for dear life,
I am thankful for medications that heal our bodies. I am thankful for being able to
take care of my dear husband when he was in pain, and pretty funny on the painkillers.
I am thankful that there will be no pain in heaven and I do believe that will include, dental.
.....yesssssss !!!!!

George Washington

"It is impossible to rightly govern a nation
without God and the Bible. "
George Washington

Oh would it be wonderful to hear something like that these days.
To know that there is a man that truly loves GOD,
and can lead our country in a Godly direction.
Pray for our country.
2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name,
shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face,
and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven,
and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

I'm a Flake

You Are Corn Flakes

You are traditional and easy going.

If something is high quality, you're satisfied with it.
You don't need much variety or novelty in your life.
You're happy with what you have. You're quite loyal.
You're the type of person who eats the same breakfast every day...
And likely at the exact same time each day!

SONshine-Sunshine

I am trying to learn my camera. My azalea bush is starting to
bloom. It will be so pretty

Can you see the blue sky ???? We have not had much of it this
Spring . We are now having some glorious sunshine. When you live in a
area that has more cloudy days then sunny days, you sure
appreciate the blue sky. We are expecting more of it today.
BTW, the new header picture is of my neighbor's Rose . I don't know what
it is, I thought it was beautiful, so I had to share it with all of you.
Have a great day where you are, no matter what the weather is.
Remember, we have SONshine in our soul.

Finally Done****More added****

Last year when I first started blogging or there-about
I started reading the Gracious Hospitality Blog.
I fell in love with her stitcheries, amongst many of her wonderful projects
she is a multi talented lady. What she can do with lavender is amazing.
It inspired me to want to start stitching. The stitching part has
been done on the Tea-Towel but I never hemmed it up or added the lace.
TODAY...I did...I feel like a proud mama. It takes so little...
I just had to share. Isn't that what we bloggers do. Take pictures of everything.
You will note the pincushion, made that a few weeks ago. I so, want to sew more,
the body (fibromyalgia) has not been cooperating.
So hooray. Something done, start to finish.
Deby
This is for Charissa and others
I looked up the definition of TEA TOWEL
It says a Towel used for drying dishes, usually made of cotton or linen.
Mine is made with those flour sack towels.

My First Bible

This is my first Bible given to me on a Special Occasion from my parents
*years* ago. When I finger through it, I like to see what I underlined and how
discolored the pages are. When I figure out how old it is,I sure do wonder
where has the time gone ??? It is almost an antique !!!
As a former military wife, we moved many times. With moving we
would get rid of so much. I am glad I hung on to this. I have other things
I wish I would have kept. I also hope that when the Rapture comes (today would be great)
that this, and our other Bibles will be put to good use. They will need it, those Left Behind.
I am glad it won't be me, I grieve for those who will be.

Emilie Barnes Quote

"Strong, beautiful femininity is part of our heritage as women.
When we make the effort to cultivate such gentle strength,
we not only enrich our own lives and make life a little better for those we encounter;
we also pass on the spirit of femininity to the next generation."

How to Germinate Morning Glories

How I germinate Morning Glory seeds
I started with some polyester batting and lukewarm water
put into a dish, sprinkle seeds on top
funny, how the name of the batting was Morning glory
after 3 days
about 6 days, ready to plant
I think this is a great project for kids
and it sure gives your plants a head start.
In my neck of the woods,
Morning glories are considered WEEDS by many.
I disagree.
How can a flower with the word:
GLORY
in it be a weed??

Shine

We are told to let our light shine,
and if it does, we don't need to tell anybody it does.
Lighthouses don't fire cannons to call attention to their shining --
they just shine.

Kristi's Blessing

Friday Night, our daughter in law,
Kristi got saved. Please read her story here.
Her story is similiar to mine last Sept 30th.
I would guess there are people who are out there ,
that read my blog who are... where I *WAS*.
You are... where Kristi *WAS*
You don't have to be.
My Pastor said recently:
"If you believe it, you will live it"
Do you know ...if ...you died TODAY (you could, you know)
that you would go to Heaven? Do you KNOW for sure?
You can.
