George Washington

"It is impossible to rightly govern a nation
without God and the Bible. "
George Washington

Oh would it be wonderful to hear something like that these days.
To know that there is a man that truly loves GOD,
and can lead our country in a Godly direction.
Pray for our country.
2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name,
shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face,
and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven,
and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

I must admit that I've wavered in hope for that certain someone (besides Christ Himself) to come along and lead our nation in a Godly direction. All too often we find 'the spiritual bandwagon' that merely leads to either a dead end or down another erroneous path.

Your post reminded me of when Abraham pleaded with the Lord not to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. Accept for the 'righteous' that live here, God has not destroy us either at the moment. The Bible tells us that God is long suffering but there is an end to all good things within this earth time. Then Mercy will stand aside for Justice.

We're watching the 'John Adams' series that came out on DVD. GW was president for 8 years before he stepped down and JA was elected in his place. It was a trying time for the birthing of this nation. Although JA seems to be a man often insensitive to others, I can see how God creates a certain personality for His higher purposes.

Hope your day is blessed.

Dear Deby,

We love George Washington and enjoy reading about him. I love this quote! We so desperately need a Godly man like him to lead our country. I love the verse you shared too!

It is so sad to me that a country started with God in mind and so that people could freely worship God, seems to draw further from Him every day.

Oh indeed it would be wonderful for our leaders to have that mind frame.
Knowing the USA though, they would call the ACLU and end up going to court for talking about 'religion' or something dumb....

George Washington was a wise man!

Yes, it would be really wonderful. I would probably think that I had died and gone to heaven. connie from texas

I'm sorry I missed this post, Deby. I long for men like this again, but I fear the Lord is withholding it. I agree with Sparrow. I've been somewhat wavering in hope for our country. Someone was talking to me the other day about how we Christians should be doing more to be a voice.
