Amy Poem

I have loved reading about Amy Carmichael
so I thought I would share with you a poem from her
to encourage you today:
~~~~~oOo~~~~~
Think truly, and thy thoughts shall be
Spotless with God's own purity
On every thought-bud let us bear
The stamp of truth, and love and prayer.
~~~~oOo~~~~
Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true,
whatsoever things are honest,
whatsoever things are just,
whatsoever things are pure,
whatsoever things are lovely,
whatsoever things are of good report;
if there be any virtue,
and if there be any praise,
think on these things.

I love that verse. That should be said every morning by all of us. What a way to start the day.

I have always wanted to read a biography of Amy Carmichael. She fascinates me. Taking captive every thought - having our thoughts born only out of truth, love and prayer - not an easy battle.

Some of the best sermons I have listened to have been centered on that very scripture. Phillip once preached a message on it himself. I believe we often miss the mark on thinking on these things.

Amy Carmichael was an amazing woman. Today's Christian women can learn a lot from her example.

Congratulations on your sweet new grandson! We are enjoying being grandparents so much!
I hope your medical issues will clear up soon, as I can relate to the being so tired thing. I don't have the energy to do a lot yet, either.
Blessings,
Karen

Amy Charmichael, respected by many! The scripture you posted is my theme verse for the year. I have it typed out and taped inside both medicine cabinets, in my kitchen and other places as well, prayerfully hoping it will remind me to think on good things!

A VERY important verse for LIFE!
Wonder how many christians really give it the true THOUGHTS that it needs..like DAILY in our lives from sun up to sun down.

I've always loved poetry and isn't it noteworthy that the KJV is a very poetic sounding book! Easy to read, remember and memorize!

Thanks for sharing this!
