Cafix--another recommend

In the past few months I have been
taking baby steps in trying to improve my health.
Do what *I* can do.
I WAS a pot of coffee drinker
yes, at least a WHOLE pot, sometimes MORE
At the recommend of family and friends (you know who you are)
I am down to **2** cups of coffee a day.
Plan to go down to ONE
and then maybe NONE
for me that is a big thing.
I have taken the withdrawal slow.
What has helped is this product pictured above.
I like it better than de-caf coffee
as I know it HAS no caffeine.
It tastes wonderful, to me
not like Sanka or Postum, things I couldn't stand.
I can buy it in my local grocery store, more in the health foods section.
You can also order it on line.
It lasts for a LONG time.
SO...if you are looking for a coffee alternative
it might work for you.
*Thanks Susie for telling us about this

I've never heard of this product before, thank you for the tip!

I'm down to 2 cups a day of the dark rich stuff and plan to go to 1 cup a day soon.

HMMMMM . . . I will keep that in mind. I LOVE coffee, but don't like the way it makes me feel, dehydrated and just kind of yucky. I love the taste. I will have to try it out.

I will have to give that a try. I have been drinking de-caf for quiet a while now. Thanks, Deby. connie from Texas

Congratulations Deby!

I've not heard of this product before. Thank you for telling us about it.

I drink 1 cup of coffee in the morning and that's it for me. We drink de-caf (sweet) tea for supper. :)

Good for you, Deby! Been there, done THAT! Talk about caffeine withdrawal headaches! I never realized how addicted I was. Bad thing for a Christian :-\ Praising God that you are defeating this in your life!!! :-)

I used to drink a pot of coffee a day also. I cut back many years ago. I still drink coffee but only 1-2 cups a day. In fact, I put my coffee on a coffee warmer and sip it all day long at work. I don't know if I could give it up completely since the only other drinks I drink are milk and water. I gave up drinking soda at home and work last year and only drink it once in a while when I eat out.

Hmm, I have never heard of that before. So, is it instant decaf coffee? Or is it better than regular instant coffee? I drink about 1 - 2 cups a day, but I can go somedays with none If I'm too busy and don't get around to it. Are you going to our ladies retreat this year?

In response to your sweet comment, I have never given formal lessons before...but I have helped coach a few ladies along the way. :) I mostly taught myself the photography part on the internet bit by bit, a little here, a little there. Photoshop has a steep learning curve though, so I have had help learning that, along with some internet teaching. I often just "googled" my photography and PS questions and bumbled my way through what I found. :) I would consider lessons though, that sounds like fun!

I've stpped drinking coffee a few times, but seemed to pick it up again. I too need to cut back...I feel so much better when I drink more water instead.

I'll have to tell mommy about this. I don't drink coffee, but I worry about mom because she suffers with headaches when she doesn't have it. Bad ones. I'll be sure to tell her about it.

this drink sounds like it might be worth trying...I had to give up coffee completely a few years back... it seems that caffeine causes my blood sugar to drop big time...and I have a hypoglycemic reaction...I think I will try to find this drink and try it...every once in a while I get a real craving for a cup of coffee..especially when it is cold and I am eating something sweet...
thanks for the tip...

Fortunately, I've never acquired the coffee habit. I do indulge in Pepsi One sometimes, but with money getting tighter all the time, it's now a very special treat.

Hi Deby, that's a good move, I've never been in to coffee other than using it for a hot drink, but caffine is an enemy of mine. It makes me feel horrible I just get this sick feeling in my stomach seems like everytime I use it. I know that brandnames differ from state to state but I use a decaf coffee by the name of Folgers and it's really good to me as a hot drink. Keep trying an maybe you'll be down to none really soon. Wow....you were drinking a lot of coffee weren't you? I drink maybe 2 cups in the morning but that is it. That is all I need or want. I'm so proud of you to be cutting back and even working to be rid of coffee completely. They say it is addicting. I can't say it is with me....cause I don't have to have it. I just like the taste of it with my toast in the mornings.

Oh, Deby, I'm so glad you quit drinking a pot! You might just feel a lot better. I had to stop drinking caffeine, so my heart won't go out of rhythm again. I drink tea now. The Earl Grey Decaffeinated is as good as the regular Earl Grey I think. I put honey and lemon juice in it. Thanks for telling us about that product. I will have to try it. I would love green tea, but don't think I'm supposed to have it with a certain medicine.

I've never heard of this, but it sounds wonderful. I'm going to keep an eye out for this product for my husband. I went completely caffeine free about a year before my youngest baby was born (4 years ago), but the sleep deprivation that goes with a newborn got me back on it in little doses that grew to big doses when I quit nursing! My biggest problem now is not coffee but iced tea!

Well done. I am a tea totaller, but will have the odd cup of coffee. I have a can of Ecco in my kitchen which is caffeine free and made from Barley, Rye and Chickory - so nothing remotely from coffeebeans. It's ok!! not great but ok. Keep up the good work. hope you haven't suffered from headaches as your slow down your intake. Blessings to you!

I'm a social drinker :0) so I only drink coffee in group settings but I sure like my tea though.

Thanks for the tip!

I actually tried Cafix years ago, but haven't thought about it since then--I'll have to give a try again. Good for you Deby, in breaking that pot a day habit! : )

I *love* coffee too, but because of some heart issues, I have to be careful with caffeine. I usually drink one cup in the morning and anything after that has to be decaf or else I begin to feel really yucky. But I *love* the taste!

Blessings to you!

Way to go! It's great to hear that someone is succeeding in their efforts to slowly cut out caffeine! I had cut down to 30 ounces of diet pop, but am back up again! Gotta stay focused!!
