My monday--

What is this picture doing here ????...I am sure you are thinking that.
Well-- Monday morning I got a doctor's appt. for this *bug*,
sinus-bronchial thing. I came home with new meds...thinking hooray
I am on the road to health.
Well in the early afternoon, I was BLOGGING in my recliner and it started
with sudden heavy pressure chest pains. I thought"hmm...reflux"---I started
trying to find a way to get comfortable-still thinking this is the worse pressure I have ever had.
I called my husband--he said call 911. I still thought *no, don't do it* it will pass, 20 more minutes passed--finally I called, the paramedics came--and took me to the hospital.
I showed no signs of heart distress. I ended up having lots of bloodwork and stress test. I spent the NIGHT and came home today. Results, reflux.
YET....and this is a big yet....I should have never hesitated.
I heard that from the EMT guys, the doctors etc...
because it COULD have been much worse, the hesitation could have been deadly.
That is my warning for all of us, who think "what should I do"--women tend to hesitate.
~~so thankful to be home
deby
Having follow-up care this week for other things--that showed up, non cardiac.

I am thanking God with all my heart that it was just reflux! GOODNESS, DON'T SCARE ME LIKE THAT, DEBY!!!

Seriously, I'm so grateful you are alright. And you're correct - we women hesitate often when it comes to ourselves.

Thanks for the reminder and I'm deeply glad you're ok.

Deby, I CANNOT believe you did that, chick! I'm sooooo glad you finally listened to hubs and got on the phone with the 911 people. That was scary just reading about it, honey. I hope you're doing well tonight.
Smooches,
Connie

I'm glad you're okay!! I know what you mean about hesitating..I put up with pain for 5 hours before I decided to go get checked for a bad gall bladder!

Take it easy and don't do too much!!

Robin

Oh, I totally understand...you don't want people fussing over you if it is reflux...yet, what if it had not been...

Thanking the Lord that it was just reflux. Take care! If that ever happens again, I do hope you'll call sooner.

Blessings,

I thank the LORD you are alright!

It is so hard at times to decide what to do...

but as always..better safe than sorry.

I need to tell myself that too!

God bless you with a good rest, now.

Oh my goodness! You are something else, Deby! I always come over here to get blessed or a chuckle or something like that, but never a scare like you just gave us! So glad you're okay!

Deby, I am very thankful that you are ok. I had a similar incident last year; got up and drove myself to the hospital without telling my family. Didn't want to bother them needlessly:) It was esophageal spasm; very painful like a heart attack only not lethal. I promised not to do that again.
I was wondering where you were.....

Deby,

Now I know why the Lord laid on my heart to do some posts for February Heart Month with regard to the early warning signs of a stroke, that all of us should be aware of.

I'm going to touch later on heart attacks and sudden cardiac arrest.

I'm glad the EMT guys, doctors, etc. all reinforced that we should NEVER hesitate calling.

Better to be told its reflux than to wait too long and not be able to tell them anything at all :o)

I'm glad that you are fine!

Blessings,
Dallas

I know that was really scary, Deby! I am so glad you are alright. I guess we need to watch our diets? Please take it easy and get well soon.

Deby, I am so glad it was only reflux. You gave us all good advice. We do tend to explain away our pains. One of my Bible study ladies complained that there was something odd about her throat. We begged her to see the doctor. Turns out her thyroid cartledge was broken! Her therapy is 'no talking', which will be hard for her : )

I'm so glad to hear it wasn't serious. I've done the same thing...waited thinking it would pass, but my husband came home from work ..with a babysitter...and took me in. You're right I think women are more likely to brush these things off!

Deby-
I'm so glad it was "just" reflux, and not your heart! What a scare. Do rest, and take care of yourself.

I'm so thankful it wasn't something serious Deby. I couldn't agree more - don't hesitate. My elderly Father experienced the same symptoms you describe a couple of days after Christmas. He thought it was the acid reflux they were treating him for and didn't want to even go to the ER, but the pain finally got so bad he had no choice. He had a 100% blocked artery. Had he not had an immediate stint procedure he would have died.
So...yes call 911.

Well for pity sake, I turn around for just a moment and you go get into trouble!

..insert stomping foot..

But golly I'm thankful you called 911 and you're all right.

..insert a big hug..

Now don't *ever* do that again...have physical troubles needful of a 911 jingle or any hesitation whatsoever!

Thank you Lord that dear Deby is okay!

Deby, I'm so glad everything turned out to be OK for you. What a scare.
I enjoyed your funny dog pictures. They are much nicer to see than an ambulance on your page!! Take Care.

I'm glad to hear you are felling better. It is so hard to know, so it is best to assume the worst when it comes to calling 911.
Those symtoms you had were alarming. Glad it was nothing serious, Praise God!
