My friend Rose

This is my dear friend, Rose.
She is truly a Proverbs 31 Woman.
I noticed her cape on Sunday.
She made it, but more than that,
look what she lined it with:
TIES--
What a frugal woman.
I love Rose's style.
She is conservative, but has a total look about her.
She doesn't call attention to herself, but looks
pulled together, and so approachable.
I personally love her soft look,
to me it is an example and not only that her mannerisms
are the same.
I have much to learn from Rose, some of it just by observation.
I hope you have a Rose in your life.

Proverbs 31:26
She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
Proverbs 31:27
She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
Proverbs 31:28
Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

What a sweet lady! I so enjoy your posts about her. My "Rose" was my Granny, who is in Heaven now. I have met several other Roses through my life, and I hope to meet more. I love older people so much!

Dear Deby,

Isn't this the lady whose home you visited and blogged about?

I wish I had a 'Rose' in my life. I sorely need one.

She seems like such a lovely lady. I, too, enjoy posts where you share things about her.

I like how you put it---her look is soft and approachable. Pretty but not over done. I also like that she isn't trying to look 'young'. She seems content with her age and stage in life.

Thanks for sharing. (o:

Deby, Rose looks so sweet. What a suprise when you opened her cape and found ties. Thanks for commenting on my blog. I don't get too many recently. Neither on the KJV Blog where we write. Do you look at that one? Quite a few Interesting writers.

That is the best! Please tell Rose just what a neat idea that is... kinda like Joseph's coat of many colors.

My first thought was Dolly Parton's song about her coat of many colors when I saw that lining.

So good to finally see a photo of Rose because I love the stories you share about her!

What a wonderful surprise that must have been to have her open her beautiful cape and see that she had lined it with all sorts of colourful ties :o)

What a fitting tribute Deby to your dear sweet friend ROSE.

She is precious!

How I love her cape..so clever, resourceful and I wonder? maybe she likes to have her husband or sons close to her?

Yes, I have a ROSE in my life..her name is Betty. In her 70's and a wonderful example of a Proverbs 31 woman also.

Wonderful post..I hope Rose gets to view it.

I am rapidly becoming one of those older women, but I find I love the company of women even older than myself. My Mom and her friends are so special to me. They have so much to give, and I still have so much to learn.

I've read this post over and over. I wanted to reply, but didn't quite know how to say what I was feeling, so here's my best shot.

You meet a lot of ladies in your life that are a blessing. You get some help from them and they teach you and you're thankful for them. But every once in a while you have the privilege of meeting a lady like Rose, whose entire life is a encouragement to you. Someone that you maybe consider a role model. I am blessed with a "Rose" in my life, too!

Rose looks like an absolutely dear lady and I love the cape. What a clever and creative idea to line it with ties.

I guess I'm not the only one thinking about the Proverbs 31 woman this week:)

Now how clever is that! She also knew she was creating a "conversational piece" I'm sure! I do have a Rose in my life, unfortunately, I don't get to see her too often. Her name is Fern.
