More on Rose's house

Rose has a way of hanging things that I love
When you are at her house
you feel like there is so much to see
ohhhhhhh....love the pink cabinets

and I could never resist a hutch.
If I could have a house full of them I would.
I don't know why, but hutches are just my thing?
Do you have a piece of furniture that kind of speaks to you?
next in line would be desks..
then of course those ghastly recliners that take up so much space,
but I couldn't live without due to comfort issues....
My friend Rose,
I wish I could take you all over on a tour of her home.

Whiney girl

I am whinning..yes officially. No sympathy--but I was just getting better and now another COLD---it's in my head, my glands are swollen and frankly I am sick and tired of being sick and tired.

Soooo...what does this picture have to do with having another cold? Not a THING---it was taken of my beloved and I with our little grandson Isaac....and since I haven't posted a personal picture lately, Voila !! It is only a couple of months old...

So...today I am in a Grace Livingston Hill book ,"Beauty for Ashes" which is excellant and is allowing me to rest, once again....it is a very encouraging book. What I like about her books, is that when people are saved, their lives are changed. They are changed in visible ways and she mentions these ways in the books in such a gentle way.

Hope none of you get a second dose of whatever is going around. I don't like feeling like this as it seems like you get so SELF-focused or is it just me?

I jump

As most of my reader know I do have that
silly side of me....
so indulge me
Since I have been seeing the docs so much lately
I can't tell you how many times they ask:
"Mrs.___ what do you do for exercise"?
WELLLLL......
that's a Easy one, and my stock answer:
"I get my exercise by JUMPING to Conclusions"
or Dr.Know---I am happy to say I "I reach for the SKY"
but truly m y favorite is:
"I get my exercise by JUMPING to Conclusions"
Do you have any I could add to my list of quick comebacks?
I am sure there are some clever comebacks...
give me a few more or lots more ,
to add to my list.

Bird Encouragement

Overheard In An Orchard
Said the Robin to the Sparrow
"I would really like to know
Why these anxious human beings
Rush about and worry so."
Said the Sparrow to the Robin
"Friend I think that it must be
That they have no Heavenly Father
Such as cares for you and me."
--Elizabeth Chaney - 1859

Spring-Anticipation

I do believe in living in the moment,
taking each day the Lord gives us
oh ...but my mind is starting to wander to
thoughts of SPRING

How about you ?
Do thoughts of Tulips and Daffodils
cross your mind?
How about next month when we move the clock forward?
Oh yes---I do look forward to those things,
It has been a cold winter in my neck of the woods.
BUT I am REALLY
looking forward to the
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
RAPTURE
.
Perhaps TODAY ?

btw, the fields of Tulips are in the Skagit Valley, WA.
We have gone there and these pictures (not mine)
do not even do justice the beauty of the endless fields of tulips

For your refrigerator-or freezer

Are you like me and just need scripture reminders ?
What I did what printed my scipture on regular paper.
I cut it, stamped some flowers around it and mounted it on red cardstock.
I bought a package of laminating sheets at WAL-mart CHEAP
You can also use clear contact paper.
I laminated both sides and put some magnetic tape on it.
You don't have to use stamps...just cut out flowers from magazines, or stickers
or let your children decorate them
Voila' A reminder--that I need to read and heed !!!
I think in the days ahead we are going to really have to depend on the
promises in the WORD OF GOD, don't you?

Grace Livingston Hill Giveaway

I have TWO copies of these books
SO I am going to give them to you,my blog friends.
What you need to do is this:
COMMENT on this post
WHY you would want to win one of these books.
That is it--
I will randomly draw 2 names on Saturday.
Valentines Day
Please make sure I have a way to contact you in your comments
~~Deby
Can I also say, I don't really care for the more modern
pictures they put on their covers of these books.
I do not find them in keeping with GLH's
sense of modesty and right living as a Christian.
I, with Grace am very conservative on things like this.

My friend Rose

This is my dear friend, Rose.
She is truly a Proverbs 31 Woman.
I noticed her cape on Sunday.
She made it, but more than that,
look what she lined it with:
TIES--
What a frugal woman.
I love Rose's style.
She is conservative, but has a total look about her.
She doesn't call attention to herself, but looks
pulled together, and so approachable.
I personally love her soft look,
to me it is an example and not only that her mannerisms
are the same.
I have much to learn from Rose, some of it just by observation.
I hope you have a Rose in your life.

Proper Grace

A proper understanding of grace does not cause flippant living.
God's grace creates a holy disposition in the life of a believer
whereby he or she learns to deny worldliness

a shop of *lovelies*

This is a favorite shop of mine in my town.
Sometimes you can find a REAL bargain
other times it is just fun to browse.
Better yet is when you can find the same type things
at Goodwill or a yard sale.

Sometimes all it takes is a plate on the wall,
putting your sugar in an unusual container
to add a lovely touch to your home.
Oh I could fit in one of these plates, on a wall.
I didn't though

Just thought these were simple but so lovely?
Just a light-hearted browse through one of my favorite local stores.
I asked the owner if I could take pictures.
I think that is the polite thing to do.

Sleeping like a dog ?

Today--I am sleeping---sleeping
Sleeping-
It helps having a cough medicine that is finely breaking
up the cough, and 1/2 way knocking me out.
Right now I think it is a good thing.

Couldn't resist this funny dog picture
Thank you for all your wonderful comments yesterday.
I am thankful for all of you.

My monday--

What is this picture doing here ????...I am sure you are thinking that.
Well-- Monday morning I got a doctor's appt. for this *bug*,
sinus-bronchial thing. I came home with new meds...thinking hooray
I am on the road to health.
Well in the early afternoon, I was BLOGGING in my recliner and it started
with sudden heavy pressure chest pains. I thought"hmm...reflux"---I started
trying to find a way to get comfortable-still thinking this is the worse pressure I have ever had.
I called my husband--he said call 911. I still thought *no, don't do it* it will pass, 20 more minutes passed--finally I called, the paramedics came--and took me to the hospital.
I showed no signs of heart distress. I ended up having lots of bloodwork and stress test. I spent the NIGHT and came home today. Results, reflux.
YET....and this is a big yet....I should have never hesitated.
I heard that from the EMT guys, the doctors etc...
because it COULD have been much worse, the hesitation could have been deadly.
That is my warning for all of us, who think "what should I do"--women tend to hesitate.
~~so thankful to be home

Having follow-up care this week for other things--that showed up, non cardiac.

Dental dogs

I feel at times that I have spent a lifetime in the dentist chair.
My husband says I am *dental mental* as I am always a nervous wreck when I go.
Now it is seeming like I am just so tired of being sick...
You know what the WORD says:
Proverbs 17:22
A merry heart doeth good like a medicine:
but a broken spirit drieth the bones.
so here ya go
hope this will put some laughter in your day !!!

Yes, I guess I have a strange sense of humor
just humor me, okay !!

What did I do today?

This just came to my email and I thought "Wow,
I need to share this with my readers" I also thought
"ouch need to improve in some areas, that is for sure"
I hope it blesses you--takes a minute to read, but well worth it.

What Have You Accomplished Today?
by Dr. Paul Chappell

“This is the LORD'S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.
This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”

Psalm 118:23–24

Each day we are either moving closer to God or further away from Him; there is no middle ground.

According to scientists, in one twenty-four hour period, if you're an adult of average weight, here is what you accomplish:

Your heart beats 103,689 times
Your blood travels 168,000,000 miles
You breathe 23,040 times
You inhale 438 cubic feet of air
You eat 3.25 pounds of food
You drink 2.9 quarts of liquids
You lose 7/8 pound of waste
You speak 4,800 words, including some unnecessary ones
You move 750 muscles
Your nails grow .000046 inch
Your hair grows .01714 inch
You exercise 7,000,000 brain cells

What an amazing thought that all of this goes on inside each of us everyday and we don’t even realize it! We accomplish much throughout the day without even knowing it.

While we may accomplish things physically, what do we accomplish each day spiritually? Each day we are either moving closer to God or further away from Him. There is no plateau of spiritual growth.

Each day God gives us is a gift. Psalm 118:24 tells us,
“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
The Psalmist realized that each day was an opportunity to serve God and determined to rejoice and live each day for Christ.

As Christians, God desires us to use each day to live for Him. As the saying goes, “Only one life, twill soon be passed; only what’s done for Christ will last.” Only what you do for Christ today will last throughout eternity. We must each take account of our spiritual service and growth each day.

It would do us all well to take account of our days.

Each night ask yourself, .

"What did I accomplish today? "
"Did I spend time with God?"
" Did I obey His commands?”
Then, ask God to forgive you where you failed and seek His help in growing spiritually the next day. As we are daily reviewing our spiritual growth, we will become more accountable to living for Him each day.
