We were at Sears...my beloved and I, in the tool department.

I had no choice but to be there, as for any outing more than

10 or 15 minutes, I have to be in a wheelchair.....

Wellllll......as we walked , this man of mine got stars in his eyes.

Yellow is his favorite color....and Craftsman tools, his favorite toys.

I will add that he uses them all.

....thankfully, I had my camera , as there is no way

we could afford this. It is in the THOUSANDS.....but he did

look this precious YELLOW CRAFTSMAN tool bench and had

those stars in his eyes and the smile on his face.

Since you asked.
My foot is healing...I am walking.
My knee is very slowly getting better.
but....
my BACK...
way before surgery I had 3 visits for Cortisone injections.
Well, that is the rough thing. All of this has made the back MUCH worse.
I will start hyrdotherapy next week.
BUT...
oh I hate to share this.
On Wednesday I was wrapping gifts. I was curling ribbon with my
my medium size SHARP FISKAR scissors..
they flew out of my right hand...and instead of letting them
stab me in my leg...I tried to grab them.
I got a cut in my palm, but worse than that
they have injured something that makes my pointer finger and middle
finger hurt so bad and seem stiff and swollen.
I am NOT going in, not yet.
I am not ready to have them immoibilize it.
I believe it is just bruised.
Silly me....but I am right handed and have little strength in it right now.
So there you have it, TMI ?
So many of you asked.
I tell you...it has been a year.
but it could be WORSE,
Jesus is coming soon
and HE has allowed all of this for HIS GLORY and my Growth.
This I know to be true.

Disappointed

This morning I was ALMOST all the way ready for Sunday School and Church. I sat down in my recliner and noticed a swelling in my left foot I have never had. It has me concerned, so I missed today and I am now elevating and icing it..hoping it goes down and I can go this evening. I was sooooo disappointed.
So ....
instead I listened to a teaching by S.M. Davis. And I JUST "know" there is someone(s) out there that "needs" to hear this. So please...it is less than a hour, the time will fly. You will be blessed and HELPED....yes helped !

Could it be ?????

What a year this has been for my health. I know so many of you have stuff always going on too. My heartfelt prayers and concern go out to you.
I am writing this as a what I think, could have, possibly been the cause of this tendon thing going on in my body.
It is a guess, and of course my opinion. It doesn't change anything or I am not going to do anything about it. I am writing because I want you to know what I *think*....
I was prescribed a anti-biotic the first of the year called:
L e v a *q u i n ..... it caused my liver functions to go sky high, they were worried. Then as I am going through these TENDON tears , I hear on t.v. that IT is causing MANY kinds of Tendon tears....yes...this antibiotic.
So is C I P R O.....yes...these are true. There are class actions suits going on. I am NOT participating and just trying to figure out what is happening. I personally will NEVER take either drugs. I would not want ANYONE I know and love to take them either.
I know every med has it's contraindications, everything we do has RISKS....I just know for me, this is my best guess. Let's face it we could choke to death eating a piece of Rib-eye (my favorite cut) steak. Do we give up steak ?
Not I.
So with that said....research it out..here is a link I found for anyone that is interested. I hesitated posting this...but so many of you know me....I am not jumping to conclusions , just thinking ????????......I have tried spelling out the name of these meds so when googled...they won't come to my blog...just thought some of you would find this interesting.

a few tidbits

I mentioned before that this month I would be

posting some things that are special about me, or my

quirks etc....

This is my anniversary month. We will soon be

married 38 years. My husband was my high school

sweetheart. HE STILL IS !!!!!

I don't celebrate Halloween in any form. I will decorate

for fall. I have strong convictions about this. I haven't

always, but I sure do now....

Autumn colors can just bring joy to my heart....I love to

see the contrast of the reds...oranges, golden colors against

green..fir trees in our area....

I am pretty crafty. I can get a bit distracted and work on one

thing without finishing something. I am working on this.

When the days get shorter and darker, I use much lighting.

Low wattage around my home, to include candles and battery operated

candles, mini lights...anything to just make things seem more cheerful.

so.....just a few tidbits, nothing exciting....

It's not about me

Since many of asked what is up?...I will try and make it brief.

I am 8 weeks past surgery. The pain in the foot is MUCH better, but when I had to wear the BOOT--it really did some RUIN to my back and hips. I also had something happen in my right knee....so I went for more MRI's....

There are some tears in the miniscus. I have to get referred to a orthopedic surgeon (VERY SAD FACE )...my right ankle has much wrong with it, but does not need surgery.

I am in different lace up (ugly) braces to keep the ankles stable. I am trying hard to find comfortable and supportive shoes, so far I am trying out the New Balance 927.

........I am slowly getting back into the swing of things. I can barely walk any distance without the pain in my back being excruciating, where I will break out in a sweat. We bought a wheel chair off of Craig's list for $100.00, just so now and then I can *get out*. I am not sleeping much yet, the knee pain seems to wake me up...aaARGH !!!!!

I had one really LOW, low day. I know it is the prayers of the saints that have upheld me.

Let me tell you what I dislike about ALL of this:

You become so self focused.

You can't sometimes help it as the pain controls you. The meds mess with your mind (at least for me) sometimes. I feel like it has made me so narcisstic. I feel like I fight it. I know life is NOT "ALL ABOUT ME". I don't want it to be. Then the flip side is I find myself getting very hard on myself...those nagging voices....come on we ALL have them.

Yet.....I still still KNOW, this is nothing in the scheme of things. Jesus is allowing this, it could all be WORSE and WORSER and even WORSER....I know this. So with all that being said. Can I end this saying : I am fine....I am saved and going to Heaven one day...and whatever the future holds I know it is for my good. I appreciate you all so much and hope to start catching up on all of your blogs. I hope this hasn't been too much information...

So this is one of my most favorite snacks;

Non-fat plain yogurt

Dill pickels

Peppercini

Sometimes, cherry tomatoes

I use the yogurt to DIP the peppercini's in.

Yogurt is good for you, the other 2 probably not.

The yogurt cuts the HEAT from the peppercini's.

I am weird...I know it.

I also like pickle juice????

BTW....I did have my MRI...and this time it was a bit rough...

It was supposed to take less than a hour,

I was in the machine almost 2 hours.

I will get the results, prayerfully, this week.
