Our Saturday Date

A date with your spouse is what works for you...

For us....this may sound silly but my husband LOVES when he loads us his old
Dodge pick up truck....which is by NO MEANS anything to look at, and takes a load to the dump.

We are in the process of remodeling our home so these trips come around quite frequently. He always will ask me to go on a date with him, to ride with him to the dump. Yep, it is a smelly place....yes...the truck is rickety, to me at least...but he loves going and loves me to go with him. ALSO the treat is that we get a coffee at our local 7-11. WE both love their coffee....I rarely say no.

I love these memories, and our conversations on the way to dump.....for some reason these Saturday morning trips or whenever he has the need to go are a fun time for both of us. I was just thinking, maybe it is because it just feels good to get rid of stuff that bogs you down. Maybe it is because he loves this old ugly truck that I tease him about. The truth is, I just love being with him and I know someday in the future we will reminisce about these mornings.

Life is short....enjoy your marriage, I love this guy, and have for almost 37 years...more today than yesterday and what is even better I know HE would say the same thing about me. Thank you Lord for my Spouse, my friend, Jim.

The dump huh? That made me laugh but your attitude is so correct. We should cherish each and every moment we can be with our spouse! The cup of coffe being thrown in makes it all GOOD!

Aww, that's the neatest thing! I hope you two have many more trips to the dump together!

How very romantic! It's not the destination but the company! Excellent!

Hi Deby,
As we get older it the little things that counts. Dave and I don't need a fancy night out any more. As long as we are together that is all that matter.
Hugs,

That is a great testimony to your love for your husband. Your Jim sounds much like my Jim. I love him so much more each day. We were married 46 years in March and I love him more than ever. We take a lot of trips like that and I love being with him running his errands. They are great times. So I say Good for you, treasure each moment. We never know when the moments will end. connie from Texas
