Favorite Fall fruit

Pomegranates
I LOVE these, do you?
I can remember as a child
eating them off a neighbors tree.
Where we lived in California they were in abundance.
~~NOW~~
They are messy
The way I eat them is probably NOT the right way.
First.....I wash it, then cut it in quarters.
Put the 4 pieces in a bowl.
~~~THEN
THE IMPORTANT PART:
I COVER myself and my surroundings with a big TOWEL
They can be messy.
I then proceed to eat these tasty little seeds with a ice tea spoon.
NOT GLAMOROUS
NOT with any special way of prettying them up
BUT
oh
SO DELICIOUS
at least to me
~deby
Pomegranate or Pomegranates
is mentioned in the Bible over 40 times
ALSO they a VERY HEALTHY
Please keep praying for my brother, Lorin
he is now in-residence hospice care.
I am so thankful for ALL the care my sisters have given Lorin and Brooke
True Love
Autumn in my neck of the woods, has been so vibrant this year.
This picture does not do justice for the color that
has surrounded my area of the world.
I woke up *thinkin* about *things*
Do you ever do that?
I am thankful for God's WORD
These verses came to mind:
Romans 8:38
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life,
nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers,
nor things present, nor things to come,
Romans 8:39
Nor height, nor depth,
nor any other creature,
shall be able to separate us from the love of God,
which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. .
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
BoldDuring these days,
during all of your days
STAY in the WORD
IT is ALIVE
IT BRINGS PEACE
This is a reminder and encouragement for me
and also
for any of you.
as the song goes:
The B-I-B-L-E yes, that's the book for me
Daniel
Like many of you I am somewhat concerned over the upcoming election.
I am trying to spend more time in the WORD. Last week I read through the book of Daniel. Sometimes prophecy and some OT doesn't click in my brain. Well I had to miss church ( not by choice)...so I went to Church of the Open Door's website and I was so blessed as the Pastor is doing a series on Daniel. I got through the first 2 of them and I am excited to listen to the rest of them, to assist me in studying this book of the Bible.
I recommend it....I need this to help me stay focused in these days, maybe you do too ????
~Deby
btw I have gotten through 4 sermons to date, WHAT A BLESSING !!!!!
Melissa's Dinner in a Pumpkin
This is a re-post fromlast year
It is my daughter's recipe
DELICIOUS !!!
Let me know if you make it!!!
So delicious and smells good when you are baking it !!!
DINNER IN A PUMPKIN
1 med. size pumpkin, topped and cleaned out
1 onion chopped and sautéed w/ground beef
1 lb. ground beef, browned and drained
3 Cups Cooked rice (white or brown)
1 can mushrooms or 1 c. fresh mushrooms (optional)
2 can cream of mushroom soup
Salt and pepper to taste (I also add pumpkin pie spice)
Combine ingredients and put in pumpkin.
Put top on pumpkin.
Place pumpkin on cookie sheet in oven preheated to 375 degrees.
Bake for 1 ½ to 2 hours. (you can tell it is done with pumpkin scrapes easily out of the pumpkin)
Serve dinner in pumpkin.
Scrape pumpkin out and serve on top of rice mixture with brown sugar.
The Pumpkin tastes like squash.
Do not open pumpkin while baking or
it will expand and top will not fit on pumpkin again
HAPPY FALL !!!!!
Fall pumpkin craft
I am not sure how many of you have seen these.
They are easy to do.
You get plastic dryer vent hose (you will have to figure out how much to cut, I forgot)
You glue it together with HOT glue
I painted it with several shades of acrylic paint(those little cheap ones from Wal-mart)
I used sponge brushes
The stem is a brown paper bag, rolled up
Add the extras...
I had more varieties as I made dozens of these BUT gave them away.
ALSO, there are several sizes of vent hose, try them all....
IF you make any, let me know...it was fun and VERY easy to do.
Rose's House
Did you ever walk into someone else's house and just feel at home and love it ? Well, the other day, Rose from church had some blackberrys she had picked that she was giving to me. Yummmmm...didn't take me long to drive to her house.I walked in....and could not believe what I saw...a PINK KITCHEN....I was so excited !!!! Her house is beautiful and holds a lifetime of memories. She showed me many of the quilts she made and also many other things she made . We had a cup of coffee together in her beautiful china with homemade cookies served on a china sandwhich plate. I felt like I was in a Grace Livingston Hill book. I so enjoyed this afternoon surprise. It was a blessing getting to know her better. Rose and her husband go to my church. They are wonderful Christians. Did I mention she is a tad bit over 80. Oh, is this woman an example to me of what a Christian Woman is.She is industrious, she shows hospitality, cherishes her husband and was a example to me.I hope to spend some more sweet time with Rose and learn more things about being a Godly wife, a better homemaker etc.....none of us have ever ARRIVED, especially me. As a woman being in my 50's I want to always be teachable. Isn't this the way it is supposed to be?
Deby
Hope you enjoyed the pictures.
Sad day indeed
That day....like today...
Many woke up, went to work....
Not thinking it was their last day....
Then it was the horrific terrorist attack.
Today...
It could be a car accident
a heart attack....or just your time.
What is important for you in this day?
What is your priority?
WHY ??
These people took NOTHING with them....
I won't either
Neither will you....
I don't know who was saved
GOD does.
This I know
NOTHING ELSE MATTERS
except, what we do for the Lord
Nothing ELSE matters except that we are HIS.
LIFE indeed is short.
Mark 8:36
if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
Computer WOES
My poor laptop, *Della* has been sick for a few days.
At first, I just didn't know what to do. I felt a bit lost...
tell me I am NOT addicted to this blogging thing a bit.
I am so thankful to my husband and son in law Mark for their
expertise. She seems to be feeling better, which makes me, her
mom, much happier. I have firewalls, anti-virus stuff, spyware stuff
yet, some savvy webset (????) let something attack my computer and it did not want to leave.
I wish I could say I used the mini-break to get things done in my home ... but the fibro bug too has been a bit much so both Della and I have not been feeling well.
In the scheme of things though......*oh well, this too shall pass* and it does not affect my eternity !!!...
I am so thankful for God's grace and love.
~Deby
Praying for those potentially that might be affected by IKE...
I am ketchup
You Are Ketchup
You are easy going and very measured in your approach to life.
Popular and well liked, you get along with everyone.
Seriously, everyone loves you!
Your taste tends to be pretty mainstream American.
You go for the classic favorites: burgers, fries, and apple pie.
You get along best with mustard and mayonnaise personalities.
Psalms 139:23-24
Psalms 139:23-24
Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me,
and know my thoughts:
And see if there be any wicked way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.
