Burdens are Lifted at Calvary

Luk 23:33
And when they were come to the place,
which is called Calvary,
there they crucified him,
and the malefactors,
one on the right hand,
and the other on the left.

I would REALLY recommend that you
look this verse up and underline
ESPECIALLY the WORD:
CALVARY

I was driving about a week ago....and thinking about things....
Mulling...maybe even Fretting...then the Lord brought to my mind this song:

Burdens are lifted at CALVARY

Days are filled with sorrow and care,
Hearts are lonely and drear;
Burdens are lifted at Calvary,
Jesus is very near.
Chorus:
Burdens are lifted at Calvary,
Calvary, Calvary,
Burdens are lifted at Calvary,
Jesus is very near.

Cast your care on Jesus today,
Leave your worry and fear;
Burdens are lifted at Calvary,
Jesus is very near.

Chorus:
Burdens are lifted at Calvary,
Calvary, Calvary,
Burdens are lifted at Calvary,
Jesus is very near.

Troubled soul,
the Saviour can see,
Ev'ry heartache and tear;
Burdens are lifted at Calvary
Jesus is very near.

Chorus:
Burdens are lifted at Calvary,
Calvary, Calvary,
Burdens are lifted at Calvary,
Jesus is very near.

One of my favorite hymns. I love singing it!

Thanks you so much dear Deby for the comment you left for me. You were such an encouragement to me there. I really must remember the quote you included about it not being possible to be everything for our children, if we were all they needed, they wouldn't need the Savior.
That was a wise woman who told you that!

Miss Chole,
What are you up to? I have been lazy. It is cold here so I am in my pink sweather curled up on mommy's throw resting. What a hard life we have.

When i saw this I thought of another song about Calvary. here is just a part and I bet you know it too.
Mercy there was great and grace was free, pardon there was multiplied to me. There my burdened soul found liberty at Calvary!

Thanks for posting John Moore's song. (Today, as I write, is his 85th birthday.) Do you know the story behind the hymn? If not, you can check it out on my daily hymn blog, Wordwise Hymns for today.

Also, you mention that you have fibro-myalgia. Are you familiar with Shepherd of Hope, and Rest Ministries? These are two Christian organizations that provide services for those with chronic illness and chronic pain. Shepherd of Hope has a chat room that my wife participates in regularly. It has been a great encouragement to her. God bless.
