Which book are you?

This was a fun and fast one..to do

You're Anne of Green Gables!

by L.M. Montgomery

Bright, chipper, vivid, but with the emotional fortitude of cottage
cheese, you make quite an impression on everyone you meet. You're impulsive, rash,
honest, and probably don't have a great relationship with your parents. People hurt
your feelings constantly, but your brazen honestly doesn't exactly treat others with
kid gloves. Ultimately, though, you win the hearts and minds of everyone that matters.
You spell your name with an E and you want everyone to know about it.

where I have been

I am sorry for all of you the browse my blog that I have been pretty silent...

I have a sister visiting from New York State...so I was out of town spending some*sisters time* last week....sure had alot of laughs.....you know how sisters are......

This week my husband is off and his vacation is being spent working on our home to try to get most of the remodeling done......

Also....with MUCH prayer, I have decided to give up a hobby I have done for years, Rubber Stamping....I am going to sell 99% of all that I have...which is a ton.....and turn my stamping room into a guest/sewing room......so I am slowly taking a inventory of it all, to probably start ebaying soon. I know I will be taking a loss, but like I told my husband when you drive a car off a car lot,it already has depreciated.
Also....some dental work coming up...aaaaARGH......I am totally dental PHOBIC.

Sooooooo....In saying all this...my computer time will be a bit hard to find. Things will return to normal soon, if there is such a thing....and I will try to pop into blogs on coffee breaks and down time...and who knows......maybe even post a blog here and there.

Thank you to Connie, for the Thoughtful Blogger award. I will work up the *pass it on* part ASAP......

ONE Hymn

This is something that has happened recently that I have found very interesting. I don't know IF you will, or it is something the Lord is just trying to tell me.
Last Tuesday on my Blog, I posted the words to "TURN YOUR EYES UPON JESUS", the song had been playing in my mind that day. Then Friday, Sharon........posted a comment on MRS. B's Blog about keeping your eyes on the Lord. Saturday, MRS. B was lead, by Sharon's post to post"TURN YOUR EYES UPON JESUS".......so I was thinking..there is NO COINCIDENCE with the Lord.....

WELL........last night as our visiting Evangelist (Bro. Bill Bramlett) was ending his sermon...HE sang the first few lines of "TURN YOUR EYES UPON JESUS"

I couldn't believe it and thought that I would share it with you all in blogland. Isn't that the beauty of a good old fashioned HYMN and how God uses them to get our focus where it should be.

So maybe the Lord is ,JUST for this time, telling me....to stay focused...but I doubt it, as I know that we all stuggle with looking at situations, problems, things that seem to BIG for the Lord to handle...LIFE.....my answer is like the title of the HYMN says:

"TURN YOUR EYES UPON JESUS"......
and the things of earth will grow strangely
dim in the light of
HIS Glory and Grace"

My discontent--a confession update June 08 a bit

Philippians 4:11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

My STORY

I have known for awhile that I would need to write a bit about what has gone on
in my life and heart for a couple of years...
to make it shorter than longer....
will start at the beginning of a new era in our life together, my husband and I.

Two + years ago we sold our largish home to our daughter/sil...and their family. We wanted to downsize...with having fibromyalgia I just could not keep up. My house was a split level. My husband had totally remodeled the kitchen, given me more cupboards then a woman could ever want. I loved that kitchen...he would paint rooms for me....and my everchanging mind with colors.....
My husband has more energy than anyone I know. I am blessed.

After we moved out...we rented a duplex. It was lovely, 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths...
vaulted ceiling, fireplace and attached two car garage....
well after 2 months there we realized that the management of the area did not control noise and other things.
WE started looking for a place to buy.

My husband had been doing a very long commute to and from work for 7 years. We decided to get closer to his work even though it would mean not being as close to our granchildren. We thought of having a manufactured home put on small bit of property.... a deal had been worked out.......Well the next morning we were to go put a deposit on the home. Neither of us had a peace from the Lord about it......so we went to our salesman and explained to him our reasons(I won't go into them here)....
.God is so good..this man was a Christian and totally understood our situation.

Well, the salesman said to my husband. I have a SINGLE wide mobile home downtown in a beautiful park. It is older and it is a senior park. At that time neither of us was old enough to live there. We drove there and he was right, the mobile home park is beautiful and very well kept.
All I kept thinking is a SINGLE wide mobile home, you got to be kidding.

Ladies you and I know a single wide mobile home is not very large. We thought ,yes we will go see it....the moment we walked in....my sweet, diligent husband got the look of Home Depot Stars in his eyes...... Oh my goodness did this place need work....It was so ugly inside. So dated...so YUCK !!!!!!

Well we bought it.....and we moved into it..putting a large quantity of our belongings in storage.
It has not been easy.

In the three years we have been here...my husband has totally redone the whole inside. He has worked so hard....then...last summer he did vinyl siding on the outside...(my sweet daughter in law Gina spent days learning the art of siding here)my son Matt and son in law Mark..helped with some of the prework on the outside....it was HOT out too....my dh built a wonderful cover over my deck...he has done great landscaping. Our son in law has helped him put laminate flooring in...we have all new windows....the place is wonderful. As I type..he is off this week finishing the last room Believe it or not we have 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms...You would NEVER recognize the transformation. I am learning to love my little house.
I am learning to be content.
It has, and is still a process.

Yet....I am writing to tell you...that for almost the first year or more.
I would complain about it, I would call it my hovel, the tube, the tin box....
some pretty ugly things coming out of my mouth.
I am embarrassed to tell you how many derogatory things I would say about this place...
yet my diligent husband of almost 36 years has kept working away at it....

I am saying all of this....to tell my husband publically...I am SORRY......please ladies...learn from me...
be content with what you have...
.most Americans think it is our right to all have big beautiful houses....
we have NO RIGHTS....
what we have is because of the Lord.
Most Christians in other countries do not live like American Christians...
Learn from me....appreciate what your husband provides...
my attitude has been horrible.
Life is so short.
In the past 4 years, my father, mother and younger brother have gone on to be with the Lord.
I have another younger brother that has brain cancer
. Appreciate all that people do for you.
In my home now....
I am learning to live with less....
but my house is still over flowing.
I am learning to organize creatively......
to be thankful even more for my husband....
I am working on not comparing myself to anyone else.
This is and is still a process
It is hard not to want what others have.
I see it all the time in blogland.
I want to be content.
I believe God honors my desire in this area.
Are you content?

Blogroll

I am not sure how everyone chooses the blogs that they do to put on their blog roll.
I am probably like many of you and read different blogs from all over....I think at times my blogroll would be so full, as I am blessed by so many different blogs...some include blogs of like faith, some are blogs of like interests, other can be blogs of like hobbies, or even like maladies.
So far the way that I have chosen is BLOGS that I read everyday that encourage me as a Christian wife, mother, grandmother(Nana) and friend.....and woman. Do I feel like I have to agree with all of those I endorse...NO....nobody ever agrees with someone 100%....just ask you husband.... but I do feel like I am accountable to the Lord on who I link up with mine....

So today...I added another bloggie friend....Sharon, of Keeper at the Home.....love her POST today and recommend you have a look.

Overwhelmed....too much on your plate?

Do you ever feel like there is just tooo much....on your plate...on your mind...so muchgoing on....not always bad things...but sometimes just an abundance of things...

I was thinking about those *things* today and then this song came to mind....maybe the words will encourage someone out there, like they did me....the tune is still in my mind....

Turn your Eyes Upon Jesus

O soul, are you weary and troubled?

No light in the darkness you see?

There’s light for a look at the Savior,

And life more abundant and free!

Refrain:Turn your eyes upon Jesus,

Look full in His wonderful face,

And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,

In the light of His glory and grace.

Through death into life everlasting

He passed, and we follow Him there;

O’er us sin no more hath dominion—

For more than conquerors we are!

His Word shall not fail you—He promised;

Believe Him, and all will be well:

Then go to a world that is dying,

His perfect salvation to tell!

Chocolates and the Bible

Helen Cadbury
The name "Cadbury" is well known by chocolate lovers the world over, and is especially sought after at Easter time. Cadbury has been making chocolates for over one hundred years, yet few know Helen Cadbury, the daughter of the founder of Cadbury Chocolates.

Helen was saved at the age of twelve and soon began to witness for the Lord Jesus. She always carried a large Bible to school. Her father gave her a New Testament to carry for ease of use( much lighter).

Helen always had her Net Testament in her pocket and all her friends did the same. The group called themselves the Pocket Testament League. Helen and her friends handed out hundres of New Testaments and, as a result, many were saved and their lives changed.

Helen's guidlines were:

1. Carry God's Word in your pocket

2. Carry it in your heart

3. Be ready to share God's Word with others.

4. Trust in God's grace that others will be saved.

Remember, the Word of the Lord endureth forever!

Holy Bible, book Divine

Precious Treasure Thou are Mine

Mine to tell me whence I came

Mine to teach me what I am

Vince Garcell
(this was printed on the back of my church's bulletin this past Sunday
I thought that this was really good and wanted to share it with all of you
....next time you eat some Cadbury chocolate maybe it will be a subtle
reminder to share the Lord in some way. I love stories like this.
Do you?

If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.
Happy moments, praise God.
Difficult moments, seek God.
Quiet moments, worship God.
Painful moments, trust God.
Every moment, thank God.

I apologize for not writing in more often....whew...where does the time go.
We had a great service at church today. A young man got saved....he knew he just WASN'T..even though he at times had thought he WAS....his testimony was awesome....it took alot of courage and a real conviction from the Holy Spirit for this man to come forward....and then share.....his testimony. Our pastor 's sermon was on What is a Christian.....and it was so good.....I plan to share more on this important subject from my notes...it is really the MOST important decision you make...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATT !!!!!

Our oldest child is our son, Matt. Today is his birthday...yes...a 4th of July baby...and you know what...that was my due date....

We are so proud of him. He is now a pilot with Southwest Airlines. He also is a reservist with the Air Force flying the big C-17's. I am amazed at the technology that he *knows*.......Our son is a fun to be with sort of guy. We love his sense of humor....He is also VERY good looking....if I do say so myself.....

Matt is married to Gina. They are a great couple and let me tell you, we love Gina just like a daughter...I would say that she loves us back...like we were her parents....she is a sweetheart...Both Matt and Gina love the Lord.

So MATT...Happy Birthday....we love you and Praise the Lord for you.

God is Good

I'm here....as some of you know I have fibromyalgia...well the last few days I have been very achey and just plain fatigued.....staying awake in church was so hard yesterday...that is not normal for me. I usually hate when my pastor is finished preaching...as he is a great preacher and I get great notes...not yesterday....
THEN we had a little car accident yesterday. We got hit in the rear end of my little red Ford Focus at a stop light..estimate damage $850.00. We are fine as is the lady that hit us...We are reminded at times like this how short life is and how fast we could be meeting the Lord. It is good to know that Heaven is our home and pray that you know that...I mean REALLY KNOW that.
Until next time
