My abilities

When you have something chronic, you can have some pretty low days and weeks. You realize you just aren't the old you. Reality is not easy at times.

I read this recently. I hope maybe it will encourage you as it did me.

"Consider your life. You may not be as skilled as some people. You may not have the gifts and talents you desire. You may not even believe you have what it takes to accomplish much in God's work, yet God doesn't judge you based on your abilities. After all, He gave you the abilities you have. He also gives success and blessing as He sees fit. Shift your focus from results and value faithfulness. Commit to being faithful to obeying God no matter what the results may be." ~~Paul Chappell

Just wanting to be found FAITHFUL,

Deby, that is very thought-provoking and comforting to me. "Shift your focus from results and value faithfulness". Thanks for sharing. God bless you.

Deby,

Oh how much you encourage us all that stop by and visit you. It doesn't matter what we can and can't do as long as we are reaching out in love towards others that is enough to show the world the love of God within us all.

That is very well said, Deby. I know that as time goes on the things I do for HIM have changed. It is always good to remember that as long as we are being obedient we are doing well.

When on bedrest for four months God taught me the beautiful gift of prayer. As a do-er this was a hard, but valuable lesson.

Which goes along with what I say: "You don't always have a choice what happens to you in life, but you do have a choice in how you react to it." I do my best to be positive and do as much as I can. Do I sometimes not feel so positive? Of course, I am human! Love and huggles.

Amen Deb, no he does not judge us on our abilites, he judges us on our availabilities, always be open and available to the lord, you will never go wrong, I think at times how this old body is wearing out, but that is okay, I am getting closer to my Jesus in the process, and he will use me in other ways than how he did in the past, God bless you my friend.

This was a blessing, Deby! It was the encouragement I needed today as we work and work and rarely see progress. Very tired at this point, but thankful for a week of vacation coming up when we can just rest! :)

Amen to that. Paul Chappell has some good insight into God's words.
He has some very encouraging words, things we need to hear more often (especially if you watch the news channel every night!)
