our first

We really don't know
what is going to pop up in our yard.
This is our first year here...
Just a little tulip
but a welcome site..
I am not sure how to dig up the
bulbs and move them etc... ???
I am sure some of you can tell me what to do..
Right now we are enjoying the warm weather
it is supposed to be 75 today.
Sounds GREAT to me.

Hi Deby,
Fun seeing what you have in your new yard. I don't know the right answer for the best time to move bulbs that flower in the spring. I know you want to plant them in the fall.

We put leftover Easter flowers in now but this is the first time I have tried it. We will see.

You asked what I used to make the mosaic...Big Huge Labs. There are some nice options for different layouts.

Have a great day.

Beautiful Deby! I'm loving this weather, how about you? I think I'm going to get Nate to bring in the air conditioner from storage tonight! It sure is hot in our trailer but I'm just glad it isn't raining! ;)

Do you know how to plant flowers? I tried our first year here and it wasn't very successful. Wondering if maybe you could show me how or give me some tips?? Let me know.

Hope you are well today!

Two years ago we were new to our home and was in constant amazement at the plantings the previous owner had done. I can feel your sense of excitement as new flowers bloom.
We have a similar water tower in Olympia as the one you show in your previous post. Are we neighbors?

Hi Deby,

It will be such fun to see what comes up in your garden! You should leave the bulbs in until the foliage turns brown. The leaves get energy from the sun and transfer it to the bulb. Once the foliage has collapsed, you can dig the bulbs up and move them.

That's the sensible thing to do... but sometimes I'm not sensible ;P Sometimes I move them in full flower because I tend to forget to do it later, or forget what colour an individual bulb is. If you do this, just cut the flower to enjoy in the house because it will probably snap off anyway.

Make sure you dig deep. Some of those bulbs seem to bury themselves deeper every year!

What a joy to see the first flowers of the season. It is so pretty.
I don't have any advice to offer. I'm a terrible gardener. I'm sure someone will though. I'll pay attention as I have some irises that need to be thinnned out!
Hope you're feeling well Deby.

Oh how pretty! I have to admit (I know you'll get a kick out of this..or I hope you do anyway) that when I first read this post, I thought you had an extra 'o' in the word pop. Gracious sakes, Deby..that just aint ladylike. I should get my eyes checked.
