The leaves get energy from the sun and transfer it to the bulb. Once the foliage has collapsed, you can dig the bulbs up and move them.

That's the sensible thing to do... but sometimes I'm not sensible ;P Sometimes I move them in full flower because I tend to forget to do it later, or forget what colour an individual bulb is. If you do this, just cut the flower to enjoy in the house because it will probably snap off anyway.

Make sure you dig deep. Some of those bulbs seem to bury themselves deeper every year!Sabinenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7812949140950721183.post-16485047121167844582009-04-20T21:29:00.000-07:002009-04-20T21:29:00.000-07:00Two years ago we were new to our home and was in c...Two years ago we were new to our home and was in constant amazement at the plantings the previous owner had done. Fun seeing what you have in your new yard...Hi Deby,
Fun seeing what you have in your new yard. I don't know the right answer for the best time to move bulbs that flower in the spring. I know you want to plant them in the fall.

We put leftover Easter flowers in now but this is the first time I have tried it. We will see.

You asked what I used to make the mosaic...Big Huge Labs. There are some nice options for different layouts.

Have a great day.Becky K.https://www.blogger.com/profile/10531485758141842829noreply@blogger.com
