soup and chili

I love SOUP, almost all kinds.
Good old fashioned Campbells tomato soup was a staple in our house when I was growing up.
My mom would sometimes add, cooked macaroni, or rice....YUMMMMMM
I still love it, HOT...

Another favorite CHILI
Homemade chili, I make a taco soup that is like chili
boy is it good , HOT....

They remind me of this scripture:

Revelation 3:16
So then because thou art lukewarm,
and neither cold nor hot,
I will spue thee out of my mouth.

ooOoo

I pray that I am not a lukewarm Christian,
it is my earnest prayer.

Campbells was always a staple in my home growing up too :) I used this tomato soup the other night in my shepherd pie recipe :)
Good ol Campbells soup hey!
:):)
It is my prayer also that I will never be a luke warm Christian. I remember singing about a ong about that in Sunday School when I was little and it stuck with me all these years, thankfully.

God bless you sweet Deby!!!!

Hi Deby, Interesting how even a simple food or house hold item can draw us back to the Word.

As for Campbell's tomato soup - I had no idea it was so good. I reckon my moma always bought off brand - things were so lean for us. But now I buy Campbells - per my 14 year olds request and I could not believe how good it was - especially with oyster crackers floating on top and a glass of milk. Now that is yummy! That's a good analogy, Deby. I don't think anyone likes lukewarm soup and I know God can't stand it when we are lukewarm Christians.

Would LOVE the recipe for your taco soup. Sounds YUMMY!

Dear Deby, No, I DO NOT want to be luke warm either. We do no good in that state. When I pick up a cup of coffee to drink and it it is barely warm, I will spit it out, how much more must the Lord hate us being luke warm because in our case "souls" are at stake, their eternal life or eternity in a fire that never shall be quenched.

Very important thoughts.

Your blog is such a blessing and adds so much in this world where so many are seeking the "right" answers to life. I think we will only know in heaven what good our blogs have been while we were here on this earth. God bless you, dear Deby. connie

I'm sure not much for Tomamo soup, maybe because I don't like tomatos. hmm..

That chili recipe looks yummy, I like chili but the family isn't too keen on it.

Love the Scripture!

We had chicken noodle and bean with bacon soup all the time growing up. I remember one day we had bean with bacon soup when a friend was over.......and a chocolate mayo cake.......she cried and had to go home. It upset her that my mom put mayo in a cake.......
I always think of the two, together!

Isn't it interesting how we can detect lukewarmness in others......and not ourselves?
