Dinner and quilting at Rose's--ADDED more at the end

This is my sweet friend, Rose.
She is teaching me the basics of crazy quilting.
She arranged this get together without big planning.
She had the time, could we come over for lessons and dinner?
My answer, "YES"
She is so talented and patient.

Step by step...oh this is fun. I hand sewed it, which I loved.
Rose has such a gentle, kind way she radiates her love of the Lord.
She is an example to me.

Do you notice the China ?
She uses it EVERYDAY
I think that fact alone affected me so much.
Life is short
USE YOUR CHINA
or....... Whatever you are *saving*

A collage she made from cards and this and that
hanging in her bathroom. I love it.
~*~*~*~*~
This was the best time that I have had since we have moved here.
I felt like I was in a Grace Livingston Hill book.
My husband and her beloved husband talked for hours, they *clicked* too.
Ladies, this was more of a last minute type invitation,
we had leftovers, her house was not immaculate, time flew
the sweetness of her home and her
hospitality and sweet heart
were an example to me.
I have much to learn as a 50 something lady.
We were there over 6 hours
It seemed like minutes.
I came home with a quilt block done(another post)
I came home with scraps for another
then last night at church she found some more fabric scraps that she thought I would like.
I am so thankful
Rose, an example of a Proverbs 31 woman.
I have much to learn
Praying the Lord will provide a Rose for you too.
You will be blessed.
~~Deby
Today I read a great post by Mrs. Julie Fink
I feel it really goes with mine
and would love for you to take a minute and go read it.
I would have to say that indeed, Rose is a very WISE woman
btw...giveaway is just down a couple posts.
Today is the last day..I will pick names later.

What a blessing!! Rose looks like the sweetest lady, I can understand why you had such a good time. What a great lesson (for me) on hospitality too. An impromptu meeting with leftovers and an imperfect house equaled a wonderful evening. It really is the fellowship that counts, isn't it?!
I can't wait to see your crazy quilt block!

What a lovely and beautiful friend! She reminds me of my mother --- who also had that china and made creative artwork (like Rose did) for her bathroom!

Enjoy a wonderful day!

What a wonderful way to spend a day! I enjoyed Mrs. Fink's article too - how many times I find myself so familiar with God's Word, but not doing what it says.

I love this post Deby. I have just such a day planned for later in the week - at my Mom's house.
I am going to start my second quilt.
She too is a patient, wise, loving teacher. She is my example of a Godly woman. I am so blessed.
I'm so glad you had such a lovely day. Sounds like there will be more to come!

Deby,
Thank you for sharing the post about Rose. (I love her name, my Grandmother's middle name was Rose~she was very special to me.) She sounds like a very special lady, and friend. I'm glad that you and your husband had a lovely time. I think her way is the true definition of hospitality. Share your life and your heart. I'm in my 50's too, and still have alot to learn about hospitality. She has beautiful china, and I like her card collage. Very creative. Thanks again!

What a wonderful day to have such a learning time. Not only with the quilting, but great hospitality as well. It's rare for people to invite us into their homes these days, and a special treat when we are the guest. I love that they had your dear husband in, too!

Six hours went by like minutes!

A sign of a time enjoyed by all ~ thanks for giving us a little peek and sharing your dear friend Rose.

I could learn a lot from her and her relaxed way of inviting into her home and heart and having leftovers, with no apologies, and using her good China everyday rather than saving it for a special occasion!

After all, just breathing is special and spending times with those you love, are special occasions EVERYDAY!

Blessings ...

I love your quote...Time is short..use your china! I have always tried to set a pretty table..just for the enjoyment! Not to impress anyone...my husband has always liked the time I take to present something with my heart.

Your friend Rose is a shining example..as are you Deby! You have such a wonderful desire to be what God's wants you to be and in your search..he has placed this precious lady in your midst!

So glad you enjoyed the visit..the blessing and now onto making quilts!

God bless ...
