Favorite Fall fruit

Pomegranates
I LOVE these, do you?
I can remember as a child
eating them off a neighbors tree.
Where we lived in California they were in abundance.
~~NOW~~
They are messy
The way I eat them is probably NOT the right way.
First.....I wash it, then cut it in quarters.
Put the 4 pieces in a bowl.
~~~THEN
THE IMPORTANT PART:
I COVER myself and my surroundings with a big TOWEL
They can be messy.
I then proceed to eat these tasty little seeds with a ice tea spoon.
NOT GLAMOROUS
NOT with any special way of prettying them up
BUT
oh
SO DELICIOUS
at least to me
As you can imagine by their many Bible references, pomegranates grow all over the place here. But none that I have seen look as good as the ones in that picture! We eat them pretty much like you've said, but I've seen another technique for getting the seeds out. Cut the fruit in half and then, over a bowl, hit the back of the fruit with a spoon and the seeds should come out. That's the theory anyway! There's just something fun about eating messy foods though, isn't there?!
I don't know if I've ever had a pomegranate before! It sounds like I'm missing out! :)
One of my fall favorites are peaches. We usually have a large amount canned by October, and we love to make peach pies with them, or just eat them plain. But they can be messy!
Thanx for your comment! I'm glad you like the layout. :)
Have a lovely day! Praying for you & yours!
I love pomegranites too! Of course I've never been able to pick them, but as kids they were a real treat, right up there with a coconut!
I've never eaten one! Do you actually eat the seeds? There are so many, I guess you do.
We eat pumpkin seeds after roasting them. :)
Eat one for me sweetie. I love them but have not had one in years. My great aunt in California had pomegranate trees.
Yes, praying for Lorin...
And I love pomegranates too! We used to have a tree in our backyard here in the desert, but the birds would usually get to the fruit before we could. : (
I am sorry about your brother Deby. How special to know he has been cared for with such love!
I have never eaten a pomegranate either, but I just may need to try it!
I have never eaten a pomegranite either. I'm sure they're health tough. Maybe some day I'll try one. God's mercies to your brother and family. Strange, but I know quite a few people in that state right now, who we are praying through dark days.
I have a pomegranate scented candle and I love it, but I don't think I've ever actually eaten a pomegranate. :)
