Rose's House

Did you ever walk into someone else's house and just feel at home and love it ? Well, the other day, Rose from church had some blackberrys she had picked that she was giving to me. Yummmmm...didn't take me long to drive to her house.I walked in....and could not believe what I saw...a PINK KITCHEN....I was so excited !!!! Her house is beautiful and holds a lifetime of memories. She showed me many of the quilts she made and also many other things she made . We had a cup of coffee together in her beautiful china with homemade cookies served on a china sandwhich plate. I felt like I was in a Grace Livingston Hill book. I so enjoyed this afternoon surprise. It was a blessing getting to know her better. Rose and her husband go to my church. They are wonderful Christians. Did I mention she is a tad bit over 80. Oh, is this woman an example to me of what a Christian Woman is.She is industrious, she shows hospitality, cherishes her husband and was a example to me.I hope to spend some more sweet time with Rose and learn more things about being a Godly wife, a better homemaker etc.....none of us have ever ARRIVED, especially me. As a woman being in my 50's I want to always be teachable. Isn't this the way it is supposed to be?
Deby
Hope you enjoyed the pictures.

Please tell your dear Titus 2 friend Rose that I think her house is just gorgeous!

How wonderful that you know her through church! I laughed out loud at the comment that you felt like you were in a Grace Livingston Hill book! I have most of her books and I'm reading one right now. I love GLH books!

Anyway, thanks for sharing this. I'd love to find an older woman to mentor me but I"m 42 now so I might not get that! ;) Still, I feel as though I have just started in my home life.

Hugs!

Wow! I've never seen, or even imagined, a pink and white kitchen. It's so pretty and feminine! I'd love to see the rest of the house, and to meet the wonderful woman who lives there.

Amen Deby! We can be learning until the day our Lord takes us home....if we're willing!
I love all the collectibles...reminds me of my mom & dad...but I sure wouldn't want to do the dusting.
I know you love pink...no wonder you felt so at home!
Have a nice day!

How sweet to fellowship with an aged woman of Godly character and warm hospitality that makes you want more of her fellowship! That's how it should be..

Gleaning from our elder women of Faith.

AMEN..Deb...no matter our age..we should be teachable! Those who have gone before us...have experienced things that can teach us to walk more faithful, more trusting.

Enjoyed the tour of Roses..lovely place.

A rosey home for your sweet Rose!

I once had a Church friend named Rose, only she was younger than me. She too reminded me of the young ladies depicted in GLH books!

Blessin's!

I wouldn't have thought that I would like a "pink" kitchen but WOW, it's adorable. Her home should be on the cover of The Home Companion magazine :)
I am so glad that God allowed you to share some time with this sweet lady, Rose.
Have a blessed day.

Rainbow Cottage?? Yes? No? Okay - maybe it doesn't fit the story line, but the kitchen is so delightfully colorful and feminine, it just brought that title to mind. I've never thought to make my kitchen pink, but since it's the place I spend most of my time it makes perfect sense!

It sounds like you spent some precious time with a lovely friend. And yes, may it be so that I am always pliable to my Lord's touch because He is always shaping us to be more like Him.

What a wonderful post, Deby. You made me think and smile! :o)

Rose has own little fan club here in the comment section...lol.

See Rose's house is foo foo girly, but it's not gawdy or tacky or overboard, it's just, well, it's a sweet little haven for her and her beloved. :-)

I am glad you have become friends with this Titus 2 inspiration. May you both get to know each other very well!

God Bless You!
