Something to Ponder

Today on Mrs. B's "Cherish the Home" she has a very good (great) post on BLOGGING.....
She found this post and is sharing excerpts . She also gives us a link to read it in its' entirety.
I think as women that want and need to honor God in our lives....with the 24 hours that God gives each of us....this post will give you something to think about....It has me....
I would encourage you to pop on over....give it a read...and then ask the Lord "what do YOU want me to glean or learn from this?" Still pondering...

Great things to ponder. I know that the post is head on. I have often in my life opted to slow down instead of driving full force, because I try and be the woman that God created.

I find the internet as a place that I can fellowship and NOT leave my priorities. As I am in control. Sometimes if I visit at a friends home, it is hard to leave, but at home I SEE my responsibilities daily. I also can see how on can become consumed by the World of the internet.

I do see how intimidating it can become, by so many sharing their lives that it may make one feel that they are not living properly..

Yep you are right...deep in thought

I saw Mrs. B's post and blogging has had to be on the back-burner for now due to what is going on in our home. I know that some may not understand and that is okay....I have to concentrate on what is most important. Sometimes it takes things like this to wake us up doesn't it?

Love you bunches and thanking you for your prayers!!

I just came across your site today, though right now I cannot remember how. Too many clicks to get "back". Anyway I am currently reading "The King's Daughter" by Diana Hagee. If you haven't read it, I would HIGHLY reccommend it. I can't wait to read more on your site.

Much Love,
Jean Marie

I think the biggest question in all this is "what would I be spending my blog time doing?". Sometimes we might be just as absorbed in something else that was not as edifying,

Our entire lives need to be in balance. If I am blogging and have not spend time with God in prayer and Bible study then I best not be blogging. If the house is a mess around me, the dishes not done, the washing stacked up, etc. then I best not be blogging. If I am not able to have dinner on the table for my husband when he comes home then I best not be blogging.

If viewing other's ideas of home decor, cooking, travels, family, adventure etc. encourages me to try a few new things, or even enjoy it vicariously through them, then my world has been broadened. If my viewing other's ideas in these areas causes me to lust after what they have, or bemoan what I don't have, etc. then I see the "problem" as deeper than the time spent blogging.

If I am managing all these things and still can be blessed by reading GOOD, edifying blogs and I can, in return, be an encouragement in other people's lives then I see it an an extension of "letting our lights shine".

Just my two cent's worth!!!

It was a very interesting read, I didn't totally agree with it but it's always good to evaluate whether we are making good use of our time and how it is affecting our relationship with God.

Blessings. :)

I think we all KNOW when we are doing anything more than we should be. One sure way to know is to ask our family what they think.
Also, a blog can actually bring ministry opportunities. I have actually had the opportunity to lead a Jewish man into the arms of Christ via the blogasphere!!! I could never converse with a Jew in Israel any other way.
All things in moderation!!! If you are not spending time with family and friends, or are leaving things undone to be online...get off!!!

I think it is great for young mothers who can not get out as much to be able to visit and gain insight from others while staying at home.
Just my two cents.

It's always a good idea to evaluate our activities and whether we're making the best use of our time in accordance with His will.

I'll head over to Mrs. B's next to read the article. I know she always has top notch stuff for us. I can tell what the link must speak of just by reading the comments here. I heartily agree with Penless and Jungle Mom. For some of us, blogging is just about our only outlet. Ministry and godly counsel is abundant in opportunities due to my blog. I love it. But just like anything else in our lives, balance and priorities are a must!I mean, even if we sat around reading and studying our Bible all the time and neglected our husbands or babies or church, we would be in sin.

Deby, Thank you for sharing this post and the link. This is something I have thought about and have determined to be careful of. I appreciate all that she stated and I will do even more thinking about it. I am spending only one hour per day at present on blogging. Blessings~ Kathi
