On the Bible--Spurgeon

Two Quotes I read today:
The BIBLE in the memory is better than
the BIBLE in the bookcase.

~~*~~*~~*~~

Never , never neglect
the Word of God.
Charles Spurgeon

2Ti 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God,
a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth.

Great quote! I've just finally started the "Bible in 90 days" plan and I told God in prayer that I didn't want to just hurry through my reading each day just to get through the whole Bible in 90 days. I prayed and asked God to help me "retain" and soak up the words and that I would really get something from each day's reading.

Well I have been and I must say it is drawing me closer to God! I've been able to really grasp it and not just hurry through my readings. It might take me a little over 90 days to finish the plan but I want to take the time to really absorb it all!

Have a great weekend Deby! =0

Good things to remember my dear friend! And when your memory is bad as is mine, it is good to keep the Bible at hand when memory fails!

AMEN...AMEN. Thy WORD have I hid in my heart!
How oft recalling the WORD of GOD from reading has given comfort and a witness in time of need by having God's word readily available in my thoughts/heart.

Glad you stopped by my blog..I missed ya! Try again with the comment..I fixed the problem.

I'm reading Spurgeon on Prayer and Spiritual Warfare and it is so good! He continually points you to Jesus, who is the Word.
I really need to start a habit of memorizing verses again. Thanks for the reminder! :-)
