my new habit

My new habit---
All flavors--
I am partial to the Ranch and Nacho Cheese
My special little dish--
one side for the seeds--one for the shells !!
Found at Salvation Army.. only .99
WHY ????
I am off all white sugar to include white flour.
I needed a snack...
my daughter who has lost tons of weight
eats these...my sister, Lisa has eaten
them for years.
So I gave them a try...at first my husband
called them a *nAsTy HaBiT* ????
NOW...HE joins me...
they are full of good things
and keep me satisfied.
I am sure there are some out there
that are a healthier version....feel free to
send me any links..I do like the roasted...
and boy some of these flavors are yummy.
I do not SPIT out the shell as some
(that would not be LADY-LIKE)
I try to be tidy...and
they are much better than
BON-bons !!!!
do you have a healthy snack to share ???

Good for you! I would only think it nasty if you spit the shells out just anywhere. In the bowl is fine! ;)

If I make sure to eat fruit, I don't crave sweets so bad. Of course, you have to be careful with fruit, as it contains natural sugars that can mess with your blood sugar, but overall it's great. My favorite is an apple with natural peanut butter.

I also like yogurt and any kind of nuts.

Thanks for this post. There are times I need something just to crunch on or to keep my hands busy. I can't wait to try different flavors. I know my eldest son always snack on sunflower seeds. I wonder if he's ever tried the different variety of flavors. I can't believe I haven't thot of trying these yet.

Raw unsalted are much better for ya, Deb, but there goes the flavor, too!! We snack on raw nuts, popcorn, and a favorite -cold thin slices of Granny Smith apples with organic natural peanut butter!! Mmm, good!!

Love and hugs to you, friend!! Keep up the good work!!

This is great Deby, I too have taken to this Habit! I love the seasoned ones. I also like to eat just fresh air popped popcorn with nothing on it. Nice and crunchy but airy and good for you.

I think they're pretty healthy from what I heard. I've never tried them, but maybe I should.

I am addicted to the regular salted in the shell seeds. I have never tried the flavors...hmmmm - dill pickle? I'm not so sure about that!

I haven't even seen these flavored varieties! Can you tell I don't look at the snack aisles? :) I'll have to take a peek now!!!

I LOVE the dill pickle sunflower seeds. I eat them all the time. My next favorite snack is celery with jalapeno pimento cheese. We've also recently made a cucumber dip that you eat with wheat thins. Who needs donuts?
Did I say that?

I've never tried them but I do like sunflower seeds so I probably would like them.

Good for you, working at making some healthy changes! (o:

I can eat seeds until my mouth is sore and yes, I DO spit when I am working outside. It's really the best place, if I have them in the house, car or at work, I always lose shells.

I'm glad you found a healthy snack that you like, Deby. I might need to try them, if they are not too salty.

I love sunflower seeds, but I have never even heard of dill pickle flavor. :) I just usually eat the plain variety.

I, too, eat the raw unsalted kind.

Boring, I know.

They are wonderful for my digestion...if you know what I mean.

I like to snack on grapes when they are in season and a good price. Or carrot sticks... When I want something sweet, I have a few mini marshmallows. You get lots of sweet for a fairly low amount of calories...
