A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.

This I KNOW---
God is in control...there are no
surprises with HIM......
I am already tired of the pandemic *hype*
Every year over 12,000 people die from drunk drivers, where is the outrage over that.
Every year approx. 30,000 die from the REGULAR seasonal influenza?
My husband just left for work, he drives on a Freeway that has numerous accidents...
How about accidental food poisoning?.... you can find statistics on anything, regarding how people die.
We are born, we die....
I think the better question is this? Where are you going, should you die today?
I think this is a great opportunity for evangelism. People are scared. I truly believe the Lord knows the day, the hour, the minute and the second, HE will call me home. All the hand sanitizer in the world will not change that. We need to keep this in perspective. I think our media is using fear tactics....
Is my head in the sand ? No...I am a realist. I am deepening my pantry, as if there were to be a natural emergency--or so I can bless someone else....I wash my hands, I do what I can. IF I die from this, well.....so be it...but you know, today the RAPTURE could happen and you and I both have friends and family that would be left behind.....I am just saying don't get sidetracked, here.
We can use this as a time to offer HOPE in our Saviour, to tell others how to get saved, to get on our knees and pray for our country, to spend time in the WORD.
Just my thoughts this Friday morning. I am not a authority, I do not have the answers, these things have happended before.
You were born , you will die,
but IF you are the Lord's you really don't die,
you pass on,
you graduate to Heaven and live eternally.
Now where you go after death, well, that is YOUR decision.
Write me if you want to know more.

2 Timothy 1:7
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear;
but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

I agree, Deby! Only one person has died from this flu but they keep hyping it up. I don't believe the media anymore, chickee. Our church leaders have warned us that things are NOT as bad as the media are saying either. I trust them far more!

I'm with you, Deby. This is all a bunch of hype! I'm just going to use common sense and wash my hands like I always do. :)

Well said...yes..the time is now to be the witness of the peace that only comes from knowing the LORD Jesus Christ as personal saviour, friend and comfoter!

I am so thankful to know HIM. What a relief at times in our lives when the world panics...not us we are secure in HIM and HIS WILL.

Great thoughts to start the day.

What a beautiful post!! So true, the Lord IS in control and the book will be fulfilled! Thank you for your timely words. I hope they bless a lot of people!

Same with me . . . common sense, no panic. The media jumps from one sensational story to another. There are 35 people with swine flu in Canada - in the entire country! - and you'd think we were dying in the streets up here!

You made some great points, Deby.

Wise and Heartfelt post, Deby.

I wish the media would get this worked up about all of the aborted innocent babies.

Oh Deby, this is a great post! I was able to share some statistics with my neighbor today while I was out doing yard work! She is not saved and was so worried. It was a great opportunity for me to share why I have peace in my soul and the news cycles can't shake me. Yes, the news causes me concern but hey, I know I'm not going (to die) unless God thinks it's my time!

Well, Deby...I could certainly expound on the absurdity of this hype you're talking about, but I won't. I WILL say this...

God is absolutely in control, and those who know Him have no reason to fear anything!! Praise be to God!!

You, my friend, are a sheer delight to visit!! Thanks for all you do to help us keep our eyes on the author and finisher of our faith!!

Have a joyful weekend, Deby!!
Love 'n hugs,

Thank you for these words of comfort. I've been sick with the cold, and was afraid. But Jesus said He has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and love and a sound mind. Keep up the great inspirational writing. I enjoyed your blog.
