Cranford

I recently checked this BBC series from our library. I was on a waiting list that seemed to take forever.
I was not disappointed. I could tell you all what I liked and disliked, but I do think for the most part, such reviews are just ONE persons opinion.I like movies of the genre. I enjoy them NOT just for the plot. I take in the scenery, I enjoy seeing the houses, large or small, the DRESSES of course, but have even been known to take in the details of a little teacup. I love this kind of movie, it is a escape of sorts.
My husband watched this with me and we both enjoyed some hearty laughter watching the antics of the people of Cranford. I will be returning this movie to the library,but....it is on my list to own.
If you enjoy Jane Austen and those type of movies, I think you will enjoy this one as well.

Beth and I borrowed this movie from a friend and we LOVED it! I think we liked it so much because it had the Jane Austen flavor, with a hearty dose of humor, which makes it a movie that guys might like too. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I've heard others say they like this--it's good to hear you say you like it too. I think I'll try it when I can.

What's funny to me is how many of the same people you see in all of these types of movies. I recognize a couple of them from the picture you share. (o;

I LOVED watching 'Cranford'! For the same reasons you did. I taped it when it came on PBS.

All the Elizabeth Gaskell movies are good that I've seen. So if you haven't seen Wives and Daughters and North and South done by the BBC as well, you should check them out!
