The start of the Party

let me explain:

The dining room now has painted walls,

thanks to my beloved,

who paints and paints and paints !!

The Flooring was here when we moved in

Showing you the transition into the kitchen
we still have MANY boxes to unpack
the brown wall will be painted
and knick-knacked up
*eventually*

My sister, Lisa's children were here
yesterday, as her son, had a doctor's appt.
in my town.
Their imagination took over
I love when kids have a great imagination !!

This is my baby sister, Lisa

I am the oldest of my parents children.

She is the youngest.

She is the twin to our late brother Lorin.

He graduated to Heaven in November.

Lisa and her husband have 5 GREAT kiddos.

Really, they are a JOY to be around

Lisa came and spent time at my house last week.
She totally organized my *craft room*

We just have the sub flooring in there,
my room will have flooring *eventually*
so Lisa used the floor to point me in
the right direction.
I thought it was so funny !
She has since labeled everything

At my husband's insistence

this was a paid job.

I know we all do things for others,

but ladies, this lady, was worth hiring.

She also did projects around my home

and I got the blessing of her kids

who, I might add, were so helpful too.

Southern Girls and Sweet Tea

With blogging, you hear of things you have never tried,

or have never been to.

For example, SWEET TEA-----

and I would love to go to a Cracker Barrel.

Well, I think the SWEET TEA is taken care of.

Our McDonald's now carries it.

My sister and her 5 children have been here all week.

Lisa, has been organizing my craft/lovely room.

And helping my house get more settled

We had to go out...

we splurged:

Yummmmm.....

sure does have a ton of sugar...maybe that is why

southern girls are so sweet...

My sister, my friend, Lisa...

loving her tea too.

Next week I will be sharing pics of the things she did.

I know she doesn't want the glory and recognition.

I tell you, I am sooooo thankful for all her help.

Her children, have kept us laughing

and have been helpers too....

We are having the carpet installed this weekend.

Yesterday she had her teeth cleaned...we had to

Springtime hooray

It was in the 70's yesterday.

I couldn't believe how wonderful it was.

Pacific Northwet

(it doesn't usually last, they said we might get a light dusting of snow next week)

The trees are blooming everywhere

need squirrel advice

I have been feeding the squirrels as I have mentioned before.

What they are doing then, is digging little holes

in the yard to save their food, I assume.

My husband is not happy with this.

Do all squirrels always do this ?

IF I were to quit feeding them, I would miss their antics so much.

This yard, mind you, NEEDS much TLC

....So do nice grass and squirrels

go hand in hand?

Any advice?

it went well today....almost easier than the *dentist*

he did 3 injections, I have to go back in 3 weeks for more.

I am tender and sore, and babying my back.

My living room has a place for 3 wall sconces, the wiring is done.

I chose these as the walls are huge and I think these will look like candles.

Also thought I could use the edge around them to decorate withe something.

of course,

a girl can always change her mind, ya know

Some recently acquired, pretties...

I am NOT fond of space above cupboards,
this space is VERY short so over time
I will add a few touches here and there

Right now we have put these rose lights up..
if you look HERE in my blog, there were Tiffany lights up.
I do love Tiffany, I do, but I wanted it a bit more cottagey.
I am still not sure and may switch back.....

Hill-side Cottage has been so busy this week.
My beloved is home and doing a STAY-cation.
He is accomplishing so much, and in his element:
remodel mode.
I tell him he has the *Home Depot* stars in his eyes.
Those who know him, would agree.
