The other morning my husband was taking our dog out
and lo and behold, look who was up visiting.
He called to me and of course, here comes the CAMERA.
We haven't had a place where there is wildlife.
This Opposum reminded of us of the Beverly-Hillbillies.
Granny, as I recall would make Possum- STEW
So my husband named him (her??) Stu.
Anyways, that is what is new
here at Hill-light Cottage.
Got any recipes?
(Thanks Mrs. Rabe for reminding me
it was Granny NOT grandma)

Too funny! Good name for him/her.
Too funny, cute name!!
EEEEEewwwwww.... we have SOOO many of those things here where I live. I had never even seen one in my life until I lived in my current home. We have chased them also, and photographed them too. I had to prevent dh from "broomsticking" one on one occasion. Big meanie that he is. :) Hope your critters don't become pesky!
That's pretty funny. He looks like he's checking yall out too. Isn't it fun to see those things when you don't expect it?
Bye the way; what is the progress of your family's trip across the country? Guess you're pretty busy getting ready for that visit. Have remembered to pray for traveling safety.
Granny would be fighting you for Stu!
Enjoy????? :)
At first I thought it was a RAT!

They aren't the cutest of critters, are they? When we had our kitty, whatever she left in her little bowl the friendly neighborhood possum would come and finish off. I love her/his name!
Sorry no new recipes, but have you tried the http://mennonitegirlscancook.blogspot.com/ website?
They have unbelievable recipes.
What a fun drop in visitor
Oh my goodness, this was just too funny!
What a cute name...fits him perfectly! My hubby loves the Beverly Hillbillies.....we are getting the nastiest weather here...cold damp sleet rain hail. How are you doing where you are... Where is our Spring?
Funny name! so perfect!
When I first moved to the south...we were invited over for STEW and after a few bites...
Racoon Stew....EWWWWW
strange I wanted to keep washing my (paws)hands!
Loved this cute post!
HOPE
Oh yuck! Perish the thouht. We have them around here too.
We have a little baby possum that eats our cat food. It hides in the bricks of our house. It always looks like it is having a bad hair day. How can something be so cute and so ugly at the same time?
