Can you help ?

People, you know,
I know---Real life friends and family
Blog friends , the unknown
They are losing their jobs, their livihoods.
Not all of them.
but many, way too many.
My heart is heavy this evening for some I know of.
What can we do????
Pray
Pray some more
Then get practical.
Do you have a extra $5.00---maybe $50.00
When you don't have much
ANYTHING given is better than nothing.
Can you take someone a bag of groceries?
How about one meal---or maybe
have them over.
Things are spiraling,
I don't want to be fearful, but helpful
don't you?
We need to be a people of prayer and practicality!
~~~~~ooooOoooo~~~~~
John 13:35
By this shall all men
know that ye are my disciples,
if ye have love one to another.
IF you don't know of anyone you can help out.
Our ward has several that are out of work or need help so there's no lack here, sweetpea. Many are being helped with fast offerings.
Hi Deby ~ There is no way that I can go back at this time and catch up on all the posts you have written that I have missed. It is good to be back and I really appreciate this post. It is unreal how many folk are jobless now. Where will it end. Well we know the end of this story but it is so difficult to watch folk in this predicament. But by the Grace of God we are not.
Blessings ~ Cathryn
As we were walking into Barnes and Noble this evening there was a homeless family asking for help. We did. We hope they are truthful but then our response it to give regardless!
Hi Deb, My 20 yo is the girl buyer for a small extreme sport store that currently has 5 stores...they already closed the one she started working in. Yesterday she was told that another store is closing and that as of April she is out of a job. What's interesting is that yesterday while she was putting on her make-up for work I sat next to her and talked about the economy and told her that her company would probably close it's doors soon, and to start saving all that she could.
She was amazed that through our talk God had prepared her for the news. You see, she has wandered from Him, and now she is seeing Him work, and is being wooed back.
I am praying that God will use these dire circumstances to draw people to Himself.
I am also helping those I know who are in trouble with small monetary gifts, and sharing food and meals, and grocery deals like buy one get one free.
Thank you for posting about this!!
You're such a dear.
Blessings,
Becky
Yes, I know some....our church has many. A few weeks ago on a Friday before we headed to the church to do our homeschool that day, we went to Freddys to grab something to eat. At the parking lots edge there was a lady in her 50's with a sign saying she needed help. April a dear girl who tutors my son got out and spoke with her, and gave her the gospel. She has been coming to our church for 3 Sundays now. Praise God!
I guess like some others have said here....We as Christians MUST be ready because there are going to be those times we will be able to witness and to give the gospel. It is certainly on my heart. We must be aware daily. The time is at hand. Great post sister!
Yes, I totally agree with you here. I also want to point out to those who live on a limited income as we do. If you know of someone who really needs help, consider giving them your tithe money. We have done this many times since we do not usually have *extra*. We spoke to our pastor about this a long time ago and he had no problem with it.
Very good, Deby. This is where we can show our true Christianity. So glad you posted this.
Oh, Deby, it is so sad! We do need to pray, and do what we can, if able. Your blog looks beautiful! Hope you are feeling well now.
