I recently checked this BBC series from our library. I was on a waiting list that seemed to take forever.

I was not disappointed. I could tell you all what I liked and disliked, but I do think for the most part, such reviews are just ONE persons opinion.I like movies of the genre. I enjoy them NOT just for the plot. I take in the scenery, I enjoy seeing the houses, large or small, the DRESSES of course, but have even been known to take in the details of a little teacup. I love this kind of movie, it is a escape of sorts.

My husband watched this with me and we both enjoyed some hearty laughter watching the antics of the people of Cranford. I will be returning this movie to the library,but....it is on my list to own.

If you enjoy Jane Austen and those type of movies, I think you will enjoy this one as well.

Spoon Theory

Do you know someone that lives with something CHRONIC in their lives ?

It can be anything. You need to read this : It is a story called the Spoon Theory.

It might help you understand those of us who have to struggle at times just to make it through.

The lady who wrote this has Lupus, BUT it could be anything..

Here is the beginning:

Once in awhile

Once in awhile you might need a bit of a blogging break.

Day 5---Giveaway

Day 5....all three will go to ONE person.

Just recently I had finally found a copy of Emilie Barne's book: If Teacups Could Talk

Well a few days later, I found this copy at a favorite Thrift Store...of course, I knew it had to go on this giveaway. The other book Apples of Gold (love that name !!!) holds all kinds of little quotes and such

some better than other, but so nice to sit and browse through and ideas for quotes on your blog or whatever.

The magazine is a favorite, thought you would enjoy it as well.

Day 5 question is this:

The Olympics Start today, will you watch them ? What are your favorite events?

My answer:

Yes, I plan to watch the Opening ceremonies but most likely will fall asleep. I like gymnastics the best.

I don't like the fact that the clothing that the competitors wear has gotten so skimpy !!!!

I actually prefer the WINTER Olympics

I have loved going to Mt. St. Helen's in Washington State.

Why, you can see the power of God here amongst the beauty of

the mountain. To see the way the volacano dropped trees by it's

force and knowing that it is GOD, not mother nature that controls

all of this...it leaves me in awe.

Blogger Problem PLEASE read

This situation has been rectified, it WAS Sitemeter.
Comments are closed on this.
If you have sitemeter and use Internet Explorer, they are not working together and will not allow
you to get into your blog. What it also means is that I cannot read any blogs with sitemeters on them.
THIS is a HUGE problem in blogspot land right now.
What you do is:
go to blogspot.com
log in
get to your dashboard
then layouts
remove sitemeter....

THAT is the only reason my blog is working tonight....
hope this helps some of you
my recommend is EVERYONE remove this until they FIX IT...

A yard sale bonanza

I like to yard sale. I cannot start in the morning and go all day, physically my body cannot hold up.
I can hit a few here and there and of course,money does not grow on trees. My husband gives me an allowance, it goes for things like this.(click to enlarge)

I got all of these goodies at ONE sale...most of it is brand new or Vintage, price tags still on it. She gave me a flat rate price of $24.00 .I was so excited. Some will be used for gifts, or giveaways. MY FAVORITE thing in the pile is "IF Teacups Could Talk" by Emilie Barnes. I have been looking for that book. The 2nd thing would be the crocheted edge Tea-towels they are waiting to be stitched......it felt like Christmas.
