to be a blessing

With prices rising , I was thinking of ways to help my budget.
I think when you find a deal, try to buy a few extras of that item.
Check the expiration dates on the cans/packages first.
When you get home, put them in the back
and don't forget to rotate your food.
NEXT
Purchase extras for those who are being more affected by these
*tight times*
You know who they are:
** the elderly in your church
** the couple that barely is making it
** students
**Family
**Neighbors
** someone on fixed income
Have you ever had tough times
when a bag of assorted foods would have made
ALL the DIFFERENCE ???
WE HAVE.
I do believe that were meant to be blessings to others
What ideas do you have?
Matthew 25:40
And the King shall answer and say unto them,
Verily I say unto you,
Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren,
ye have done it unto me.

Great idea Deby! There is always someone in our church or lives that could use a blessing like this.

I really watch the ads and stock up at that time. By doing this I find I manage to buy most items below the normal retail price.

Have you been to the Hearts In "1" Accord blog yet? Haven't heard from you :o)!!!!

Wonderful ideas, especially the one about giving the food away. When we were in Bible college a stray bag of food would have been so appreciated.

Great idea!

You are so right Deby. There is always someone nearby that could use some help.

I'm so glad you asked me about how I made the ironing board cover! I meant to put a link on my post about it and totally forgot! So, I did a short post today and put the link to the tutorial that I used.

Yes, I agree! There have been times that our church has collected goods and made up care packages for those in need.

Deby,

Great ideas and I have tried to do this ever since the Lord laid it on my heart several months ago :o)

I am praying to be more open to His leading in this and similar areas.

One more suggestion:

To those who are in need, give your best, not the dented can of hominy in the back of your pantry.

How thoughtful Deby. We do need to remember those in need. Times are tight and we need to be penny wise.

A nana after my own heart. Ya know that I love to get deals. I can remember one time PB was on special at the base for only $3 for two big containers together. I bought like twelve of them. With things getting so expensive, it is the way to go....and it saves tons. And I love buying thingsd for others....more than I like buying things for myself.

No matter how little we have we can all share our little and make a difference in someone's life. Thanks Deby, I appreciate you so much. connie from Texas

You are such a sweet, generous person, Deby. My monitor went out on my computer, so I have really missed it for a few days! Have a nice break.
