C-pap..more info added at bottom

Well, it is official. I already knew it, but I do have
sleep apnea.
Yesterday I went and got my C-pap machine.
It is so little and the hose and mask hooks up to it.
I slept with it last night and did pretty good.
I am praying that this will help with the daytime fatigue
that has been so debilitating. I am committed to sleeping with this.
The lady who worked with my told me her aunt died of untreated
sleep apnea. I know things like this take awhile to get used to.
So my desire is that I will be able to do it, and I will finally get
some decent sleep.
Deby
This might help explain things more, right now I am trying a nasal mask...the picture isn't exact but you get the idea:

Wow they have even come a long way wit those machines....definitely smaller and nicer looking than they used to be...and no where near as bulky. Will pray that this will help you. See you Saturday

Deby, I so hope that this gives you the help that you need. I can't imagine how difficult your days must be without a proper sleep. I'll also pray that you quickly adjust to wearing this device at night.

Deby, my husband has this same machine! He feels much more rested when he awakes and it has helped him not to have morning headaches! He has tried every mask and has yet to find one that he really likes but at least it is working :-)

I will be praying for you!

My husband has sleep apnea and has been using a cpap for over 7 years. I am so thankful for that machine (best invention ever!) because now he doesn't snore anymore. It took him a while to get used to sleeping with it, but now it's not a problem at all. I hope it goes well with you and that you start to feel better!

Oh, I hope this works for you, and I'm looking forward to seeing what things change as you rest better. I'm pretty sure my Wes has sleep apnea, so I'm really interested in how you do - aside from just being interested as a friend! LOL

How interesting...I had never read about this before. I hope you can find peace and sweet rest soon and wake up feeling completely refreshed.

People can die from sleep apnea? I didn't know this!

I'll be praying that you adjust quickly.

Oh, dear, Deby, I pray this will help you get enough sleep. I don't really sleep well myself, and I stay up way too late. This computer is addicting, as you know.

Wow, it looks complicated. I hope it helps you so you can get a good nights rest.

I hope this helps you, Deby. The Fibromyalgia Network ran an article on sleep apnea in their newsletter. Seems like it's a common problem for people with fibro.

I hope this helps you get better sleep Deby. My hubby has a few guys at his station (he's a fireman) that have C-pap's and he says they really do help.

Blessings!

I have heard that these little machines work wonders and you really do sleep better. My friend's husband was on it and then he found out that he needed to have some kind of sinus operation and he was able to get off the machine after that and he no longer snores and sleeps all night! There is hope! I hope that this helps your fatigue.

Hugs, Sharon

Hope this helps you, Deby. I didn't know you could die from this either. I think my husband might have this condition, but it's been going on for years.

Oh Deby, don't you feel like an astronaut at bedtime now? My mom was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea a few years ago. She couldn't believe the difference in her health all around after getting some rejuvenating sleep! With you Fibro, you need deep sleep. I pray this helps you all the way around.
