month. Our friend Rose and her husband Norm asked us to come over after
Sunday evening service. I thought it would be coffee/tea and cookies.
Oh no...
This, Proverbs 31 woman, was prepared. She had homemade split pea soup
that she had frozen and then had it almost ready to go. She had little sandwiches
Oh and of course before dinner, crackers with a salmon spread that her
son makes every year. For dessert we had a few things from the holidays to
include her fruitcake. NOW this is a GREAT FRUITCAKE.
I now have a copy of the recipe, and will make it next year.
Fruitcake gets a bad rap, oh but not this one
Think I will re-name it at the beginning because
of the stigma when I give it someone.
She keeps the inside of her fireplace filled with candles.
So so cozy.
This is a 80 something woman that does all of this.
I love this look, I feel like I am in a Grace Livingston Hill book
when I am there. She does things with joy.
I love to observe and hopefully learn from Rose.
In dealing with her husband, Norm,
I have never heard her berate him, contradict him, no dirty looks.
She serves him lovingly and you can hear the love in his voice for her
he calls her *Rosella*...they have a rock solid marriage.
I know she has learned many things through the years.
I hope the Lord gives us many times together.
Rose, is a dear friend.
You would love her.

How beautiful!
I am an AVID GLH reader (reading 'Finding Jasper Holt' right now!) and I know just what you mean.
I pray that I can be a 'Rose' in my 80's. All she does is amazing. How God has blessed you with such an amazing marriage as an example!
Deby,
